you probably need to go for a universal remote , and check as the problem might be on the existing remote may not be working and then using the universal remote , u can undo the changes you have done .
hi there ! there's a default settings in your remote try to reset the remote , or maybe you just forgot to read the operating manual before using it. from there you'll find the answer with the remote problem. Be patient. Thank You
Apex TVs use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for many models is 6688. Other sets may not have one, or may have a default code of 1225 instead of an override code.
To use the override code:
Hit the MENU key to get to the menus.
Go down to the SYSTEM menu and hit the right arrow on the remote control.
Once in the SYSTEM menu, go to PARENTAL GUIDE. It will ask for your code.
Enter the override code listed above. From here, you can turn on and off different rating restrictions, as well as set a new code.
No matter what the V-chip code is set to, the override code will still work. If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired
OK
Happy New Year

The factury remote that came
with my 20" Advent lost many of it's functions. I recently purchased
the Phillips Remote SRU4105WM/17 and it works perfectly with the Advent
as well as my other equioment. Buy has it fo $8: http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=208673201
Make sure you are hitting the right menu button. Samsung thinks they are dummy proofing their tvs. You cant get to anything they do not think is pertinent at the time. Make sure you are hitting the write button on the remote. Try to hit menu on the tv and see if that works.
On those particular Magnavox TV's you have to use the original type of remote to power it back on then un-lock the parental lock. It is a bummer that nothing else will work. Here is a link to purchase a replacement remote..
