Printer was working fine. Then all of a sudden all error lights started flashing simultaneously, including the Continue light. There is no jammed paper. The connection to the PC is fine. There is paper in the bin. I've opened and closed all doors, removed and reinserted the cartridge & drum, tried pressing the Continue button twice in quick succession, powered off and then on while holding the continue button. Nothing changes. If powered off then on, first the continue button flashes as though data is pending to print, then all lights start flashing. Fan is running. Motor is running although it sounds a little higher pitch than normal. I don't think this printer has an ad-on memory module -at least I can't locate one.
The flashing lights are a "Maintenance request error" or a "Fatal error". Most of the time it is a "Maintenance request error" which means the waste ink pads need to be serviced. You can reset the waste ink counter but the ink pads will need to be serviced at some point.
Use the Service option from Printer Properties to start service--maintenance----or you need to service your printer from vendor.....

The printers first error code show all lights flashing:
Flashing Ready'Data
Flashing Toner Low
Flashing Load'Remove Paper
Flashing Paper Jam
Flashing Error
Flashing Press Continue
By pressing continue twice to get to second error codes the lights show:
Flashing Ready'Data
Off Toner Low
Flashing Load'Remove Paper
Flashing Paper Jam
Flashing Error
Flashing Press Continue
Pressing continue twice more shows:
Off Ready'Data
Flashing Toner Low
Off Load'Remove Paper
Off Paper Jam
Off Error
Off Press Continue
Pressing continue twice more brings back to all lights flashing
The computers ( I have tired more than one with diff USB and A parallel cables) do not see the printer as being attached. My toner is half full. I checked the internal power board in base of printer and the fuse is good. The error should not have anything to do with being connected to a computer or not because when it was working and not connect to a computer it would not blink all the indicator lights (If I remember correctly, just the Press Continue light would be lite).
Information I have found so far:
o Under PDF DocumentsOwner's Manual(English) (.pdf) (1.33 MB) shows very little about the indicator lights.
o Under HTML DocumentsUser's Guide shows more information about the indicator lights but mentions nothing about the secondary error codes.
The Lexmark E321/E323/E220 are very close cousins to the P1500 and on Lexmark's website the manuals have more info on secondary codes but nothing that matches my error.
Lexmark E220 User's Reference Starts on Page 45 Secondary codes start on Page 47
Lexmark E321, E323 User's Reference Starts on Page 47 Secondary codes start on Page 49
Information I am guessing could be the problem:
The fuser has gone out (need to know how to check) Why else would they sell the fuser if it didn't go out regularly Part Number: 56P1053
Clutch Assembly I'm not sure of the accuracy of the info on this page.
I would try to uninstall the drive on the OS. Then re-start the computer. After the re-start, connect the drive and see if the drive re-installs itself.
If the error persists, then the drive is indicating failure. To absolutely verify if it has failed, take the drive to a store where there are MAC computers and try the drive on one of their computers to see if it works.
A continuous flashing LED on most devices where the LED does not normally continuously flash is an indication of a failure of the device. Some devices will flash an error code when designed to do so, and if possible.
Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.
Verify that the label on the ink cartridges is intact, and the cartridges are not damaged.
Verify that only KODAK branded ink cartridges are installed.
Insert the ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear them click into position.
Close the printer access door, then make the same print.
If issue still continues:
Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper tray.
Press and hold Cancel + Copy/Resume simultaneously until the On/Off light flashes green. The On/Off light continues to flash during the cleaning procedure.
When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press and hold Scan + Copy/Resume simultaneously until the On/Off light flashes, then wait for the demo sheet to print.
If issue still continues:
the printhead for your printer is in need of replacement. Contact Kodak

do you or have you recently started using recycled paper. I know for a fact that recycled paper and Dell printers dont get along very well. It's the dust and it will block the hole for the sensor which could show an error or make the printer think there is a paper jam. Youneed a can of compressed air and thoroughly clean it out. If that does not work you can remove completely the software from the pc, let the pc reboot and reload the drivers and software. good luck
When all the lights flash on this model of Dell printer it is considered a system error. This can mean alot of different things. You can get a secondary error code <even a third error code> to pin point the exact problem by double pressing quickly the continue button and noting the combination of lights that appear, flashing or constant. This needs to be done while the printer is erroring. Most generally it is a system board failure, but can be something else. The best way to narrow this down is to contact Dell Printer support.
Mine did that too but my power went out in the house. So diconnected it and uninstalled ssc utility. Then reinstalled. Worked fine after that. Hope it works for you.
All flashing lights for the Dell 1700 series (1700, 1710, 1720 including those that have n or dn as part of the model) printers is a service related error. When double pressing the continue button twice quickly, the printer will give a secondary error code, narrowing down the printer part being effected. It is possible to even narrow the error code down even futher by double pressing the continue button and taking note of which combination of lights come on, wether they are steady or blinking. Most generally when this series of printers, when you get all flashing lights, something major is going on with the printer. It could be pointing to the fuser, or main board, etc. You can call dell warranty support and they will help narrow down which part is being effected. Most generally, what is being effected is not cost effective to get fixed if you are no longer under warranty.
