How can I reconfigure my access point on my DI-624 from 802.11g to 802.11a, so I have this recommended configuration (802.11a) to stream Netflix from my PC to my XBox360? The streaming is very slow, and the set-up instructions say my DI-624 supports 802.11a, but that it is currently set at 802.11g. I tried to reset the D-Link, I got in thru the username/password ordeal, but still do not have the option on my IP address/d-link settings page to change the access point! Please help!
First press reset button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router.
Then connect router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then you can see configuration page.
Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router for your LAN.
Go to wireless enable it .
Then enable wi fi security wep security then enter WEP key it is your password to connect internet .
Then save settings and restart router.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Thanks.
Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings.
or
if there a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings
hope this helps
