Replacement antenna For a Grundig YB 400PE portable

Did you ever get the Grundig YB400 open? If so please tell me as I can not open mine either!!

its a 9V power supply
you should try Radio shack take with you the the radio to make sure the power supply have the correct connector

go to radio shack

Occasionally I've found dirty contacts, a crack in the board, etc. Try working the switches; check batteries and look for corrosion of the contacts.

But - this model is a receiver only. It's not supposed to transmit. If you had it transmitting, please tell me how. Marconi wants to know.

Apparently these sold as low as $30 at places like Fry's. At that price, it's not worth repair.

Some Grundig models have a history of poor front end design where just a bit of static electricity will wipe out tuning. Serious flaw.

Unfortunately, your description of the problem means that your radio must be taken apart to be fixed. Replacement antennas can be found purchased. It would require installing the new antenna and most likely soldering it to the broken wire. Do you have a picture?

Some Grundig models have a history of being friend by just small amounts of static electricity such as walking across a rug. It wipes out the tuning circuit.
