Hi,
When you choose the alarm button on the back row of buttons in the middle you get 4 options, no alarm, beeping, music, beeping & music. These are represented by icons on your front panel the note and the ))) sign.

Random is truly a difficult problem to solve, if no pattern of failure can be detected. It sounds as though the alarm may be at fault. Is the alarm on and set to radio, CD, or beep? If radio, that could pinpoint the problem. If you have another, mechanical alarm, use it for a couple nights with the Bose Wave alarm off. If the Bose still acts up, then it isn't the alarm. Try unplugging the unit, waiting at least 30 seconds, and plugging it back in, which will cause you to need to reset the alarm. Alternately, remove the Bose cover and blow out dust. I find the Bose susceptible to dust as a cause of malfunction, which may point to the cause being the compact design of the unit. Good luck.
Loud buzz is usually caused by static and radio interference in radios. If none of this is affecting you unit presently there there is a probability that some cables which aid the fm antenna in receiving stations this could act as static which brings about the buzz on the unit. Either way it is caused by interference on the fm receiver end and all you have to do is get that serviced and the problem is solved. Hope this solution has been helpful?
I live in Vail Az about 110-120 miles from Phoenix Az I can pick up 60% of the stations decent. The power cord acts as a fm antenna. Plus this Bose Wave CD/MP3/FM
Yes. The tuner spacing option should do this.
If it's a Wave Music System or a Wave Radio II, go into the 'setup menu' and look for 'tuner spacing'.
-If it's older, you may want to call Bose for a solution.
I had the same problem took off the two screws in the back and one under the cd cover once I took it apart the am rod was loose i put a piece of duct tape to hold it down and it works great, don't drop it anymore
Try replacing the battery (turn it over, have a look on the bottom there will be a door for a battery) and then trying it. Alternatively connect a aerial as it sounds like a reception problem.
