The headphones on my Tosiba Satellite Pro A200 dont work

The headphones dont work when I plug them into the jack point, sound still comes through the main speakers. It used to work fine then one day it just stopped.
I was wondering if this is a hardware issue or is there somewhere I can go to turn it on or off?

Toshiba satellite A200-27Z power cord led flasing failure to post will try any suggestions

Have you tried another Cord with the EXACT same power specs? Remove the battery. Has the cord/charger/transformer been damaged? Has the AC jack been damaged? Due to pulling on the cord while plugged in? At the AC jack "wiggle" the plug a bit to see if the plug and AC jack are making a good connection or Loose. Sounds like a loose AC connection.

My Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 works fine if I use a battery charged on an identical machine, with the same mains charger. With the mains charger plugged in it either shows 'plugged in not charging' or...

It sounds like the connector from the A/C adapter to the motherboard is loose or the inside of the adapter plug that attaches to the motherboard is defective.

I have a Satellite L300 and have a sound problem, sound only comes out of right speaker (despite balance set mid point) and no sound comes out of headphone jack!

I have seen this many times and found bad solder joints on the motherboard on the bottom side of the headphone jack. I have also seen the plug coming from the speakers to the motherboard lose. If you feel this is too much for you to handle then you need to go to a PC shop or a friend that can solder PC boards. Good luck! Phil

P.S. This is not a software issue for certain.

Bios Pasword

Unfortunately, if you can't remember your bios password you'll have to reset the CMOS. This is usually done via a jumper on your laptops motherboard itself, or removing the battery on the motherboard while the laptop is unplugged and the main battery is taken out. Be very careful when opening up your laptop, make sure all the screws needed are removed, as they are easy to miss. If you don't feel comfortable opening up your laptop, I would recommend taking it to a certified technician.

Headphone Jack is NOT working properly

Check your sound device levels. you may need to enable that headphone port before it is usable. you can do this in the control panel tab. reinstalling your sound drivers wouldn't hurt also.

No sound after pluging in headphones

Not unless you know how to work on a headphone jack and how the jack and the jack switchs work??? Also if you dont know about the HI Voltage saftey issues, it would be best for you to bring this set to a pro tech, as it shouldnt cost to much for a new headphone jack??. Good Luck
