You can always reference the easyRip help file by clicking on the icon with the "?" on the Module Dock. Just navigate to the section that applies to your issue and it provides images and step-by-step instructions on how to perform any task that easyRip is capable of performing.

Manual for RCA Opal M4208GR:
http://www.voxxsupport.com/images/manuals/M4208GR/media/M4208GR_DOC_OM.pdf

This player has default setup MSC mode, seeing the player as a flash drive also called a removable disk.
MSC = Mass Storage Class
When seeing the player as a removable disk in Windows Explorer:
Drag and drop the song, with mp3 or wma format, into the Music folder on the player.
Note: some wma files may have DRM = Digital Rights Management. These files might be copied or transferred onto the player but cannot be started for playback.
Important: in MSC mode always safely remove hardware, the players' removable disk, at the bottom right corner of the task bar.

Transfers to the player can also be done with software like Windows Media Player 11, RCA easyRip or other software from music stores.
This can be done in MTP mode. MTP = Media Transfer Protocol.
How to switch to MTP mode, seeing the player as Media device:
In the players Menu go to Settings. Go to Protocol. Select MTP mode / switch from MSC mode to MTP mode.

I have an rca opal#M4208GR-B that seems to have lost the ability to show which songs are on the menu. In fact, the entire choice for music,radio etc. has disappeared leaving only the icons such as hammer...

i have the same damn problem. On the menu screen, i don't see any words, letters and ect. I only see the icons. When I try playing the music on my opal m4208-GR, It only shows a black screen. So i don't know what too do. I tried reformatting and the firmware update. Im guessing you have too kill the battery for the whole day. Try playing the mp3 all day until the battery drains out. Hopefully it can regain memory after that.

Need to reinstall data on RCA Opal M4208GR-B

I did the same thing and reformatted mine too! If you go to www.rcaaudiovideo.com and put in your model number M4208GR and click on the update for the firmware update again then it will put everything back on the MP3 player. I know it sounds nuts but it worked for me and it wont do anymore harm then you have already done ;) Give it a try. Hope it works for you like it did me!

Cant put songs on opal

Yes. Forget media player and go to limewire.com. After you have downloaded their site type in the type of music or specific song and then dowload.Use songs that are high on the list and use ones that are marked mp3. after the song downloads you will see another area below with commands. Hit explore and it will open another file. Have your device plugged in and then hit copy this file scroll though and highlight your device first.It will usually say Mp3 or something like that. Oh yea before you hit explore you have to highlight the song. simply click on it at the lower area. Also limewire will always ask you to upgrade to PRO and unless you are really into it itis not nessessary. Have fun
