Suggests that the motor regulator IC has problems spinning the disk in a normal way so it will overheat and start to behave in an erratic way - consequentially it may have problems stopping the disk before it ejects.

However, this does not necessarily mean that the IC is bad (far from it), it is just overheating and will usually do so when the spindle motor has oxydized brush contacts - this means that the motor resistance is now higher and that it will not spin at a correct speed with the voltage supplied from the IC.

The electronics will then try to compensate for the speed, but the IC may overheat and start messing up.

Cleaning or replacing the spindle motor might solve the problem, but if the motor can not be replaced because of the unit design and buildup, then this usually calls for the replacement of the entire disk mechanism.

Anyway, this is just one of the possible causes, you might want to try cleaning the laser pickup lens first, but i'm not sure if doing so will make things any better.

This could be due to the speed the DVD was duplicated. or the optical reader may have proper voltage and has stopped reading. this is a power supply issue. The board needs repair.

SOURCE: reading but DVD is not spinning in portable dvd player

Some suggestions assuming you know you're using good discs, and have this problem with more then 1 disc. In anything that requires you to open the player and play around in it, I also assume you're not too akward with electronics, and out of warranty: spindle motor problems - you could either fix that by changing the motor, or occasionaly by dropping a little bit of 3 in 1 oil on the shaft. Just dont start it as a hobby if you can still go complain at the store... Good luck

Won't read Dvd/Cd as loaded

It is a problem of the optical head being covered up by foreign particles obscuring the optical lens. Try using a CD/DVD cleaner disc which has double brushes and one add some solvent which comes along with the pack.Simply play it & keep ejecting and inserting the disc makes the disc to spin, till your player starts reading it..............................sodeep

Dvd in in player and won't eject. screen reads "loading".

Try unplugging the unit and plugging it back in after a couple of minutes, if cd still won't come out you can unplug the unit and manually remove the cd by taking the outer casing off.

DVD will not eject

Power off the unit, if it will not power off, unplug the unit for a few minutes, then plug back in.

press the power button (turning it on). Before it can attempt to read the disc, eject it.

DVD player will not read any disc

The motor is on its way out - the H02 code indicates motor failure as in it cannot spin the disc. You can sometimes fix it but for how long is anyone's guess. Disconnect from the power, remove the three rear screws and two screws on each side (total 7) and lift off the outer cover. Now if you carefully reconnect the power BE VER YCAREFULLY NOT TO TOUCH ANY PARTS INSIDE THE CASE and put a DVD disc in as per normal, you'll will see that when the tray closes, the upper platen (a honeycomb disc) that sandwiches the DVD to the lower platen does not spin - it should. Give a gentle spin clockwise and it should spin up and the DVD will play. You may need to restart if you missed your chance first time. If you switch off and on, eject and close the tray, the spin should happen as normal. If it doesn't, your motor is knacked and not an economical repair. Buy a new player. If it spins time and time again, you may well have temporarily fixed it for a while.

No eject/reads hello thats all

Is there a small hole under the tray? Use a straightened paper clip and piu it in there and push, it should manually push the tray out. If there is anything on the DVD that looks like a computer program, the DVD may be trying to read it as a BIOS upgrade. The spindle motor may be bad too as the DVD is waiting for the platter to spin up to read it and is timing out.

The dvd player will not eject the dvd

We once had 2 DVDs in the tray (thanks, kids). The tray would not open and had similar symptoms.

We eventually pulled/pried-open the tray (while it was attempting to open by itself, aka you could hear the try motor was activating.)

I'm sure a tech would cringe at this, but it did eventually pop open (with our aggressive help) - and all is well.

Good luck.

Can't get a disk to play

I've seen failure of the spindle motor to cause problems like this. Problem can also be a leaky diode in the power supply.

DVD just says reading.....

Too high speed when writing discs. Use no more than 8X. Try 4X. Also, read again the user manual and check the kind of MP3 files this device can read.
