Question about Toshiba 62HMX84 62" Rear Projection HDTV
Toshiba 62"rear projection tv HDTV, DLP etc. picture begins to flash and then screen goes black. sometimes still have audio sometimes tv shuts all the way down. blue and yellow lights flashing on the front of the tv below the screen
Most likely the lamp is dying. Try replacing the lamp before calling a repair tech. What does the Owners manual say about the blink lights?

If you followed the directions in the owners manual, then the bulb assembly may have melted onto the light engine, and unless you have a service manual, and know how this set comes apart, the best advice I can give you would be to call out an authorized Toshiba service tech too assist you in this repair. The set may have had a cooling fan issue before the bulb blew, or could be why the bulb blew but got too hot before it did so. Good Luck

SOURCE: Television Problem
I have just run into the same thing, prior to the picture not coming on there was a loud whining noise, I thought it was the fan in the back, but, what I tried was removing the lower back panel, LIGHTLY tapping the light wheel assembly just left of the Bulb housing, and using a shop vac to first, **** the assembly around the edges and then reversing the air and Blowing it out. After much dust and dirt flying around the TV came on. It now only makes a little noise now and then, but, I will try this again today and then put the back panel back on. Since it would probably cost as much as a new TV for the color wheel, I gave this a try. For now, it is working.

that means your lamp it is getting to the end of its life.
sometimes even if the lamp still good the TV will send you that message because that timer is closed to 5000 hours
What you can do is open the lamp door, closed again and the tv will ask you if you replaced it the lamp, and just say yes and that sign will go away
or just simple replace the lamp. 915P020010

Most likely, you need to replace your DLP bulb. The one that comes with your TV will last a few years max. The replacements seem to only last about a year. D:
