CD player will not play CDs

a good good run, most never get that far, never serviced.
1981 actual; using RCA rear jacks mark PLAY?
both speakers? L and R>?
CD, all CDs low.
but is FM radio low too>?
there is no CD player there, on board so if FM is ok and AM
then your CD player not told is bad.
OR?????
CDDA real music disks (brick store bought off shelf) or
or CD with a bunch of MP3, or WAV or FLAC files?
is CD-r disk , SUN wrecked, not kept in dark not used. oops.
CD_R are easy to wreck in sun say parked on a window ledge.
all mine are good back to the first CD-R ever made and have hundreds here..

buy new BluRay player and it does them all, no more weak laser
do not use phono jack or that will put the preamp into saturation or the AGC there to go nuts. use only tape or aux , play jacks
phono is only for phonograph weak weak mag cartridges
tell what is there all and get better answers can go back 1960s and tubes, sure can. (old as dirt me)

Take it out and get it repaired. Or you can swap for one from a breakers yard.

Could be a bad wire from cassette player to speakers. Do you need to change setting from stereo to cassette

cd players have their laser fail often. How old is it? A three year run with a player is not bad.

The changer is fubar and repair is not cost effective.

Try cleaning the lens in the CD player with a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, it is likely that the optics are defective and need to be replaced.

you can get lens cleaner cds that have little  brushes on them

Hi in most cases the mod kit will fix the problem. other wise its a new unit as Blaupunkt only supply the mod kit or a new mech...
