My zen stone plus does not seem to charge fully. After 1 hour of charing I only had half an hour of play. I'm in India so don't have the instructions. Can you tell me what symbol comes up on the round screen when it is charging & when it is not? - ie the sign changes after a few seconds of plugging into a computer.

If you could remove the cover, take it off and them put the MP3 player under the sun and let it dry.
If there's any abnormality found in the function of it, there are some
components that have gone bad. You need to contact the manufacturer and
have them check it.
The red light means that your zen stone needs to be charged or that it is fully charged. If it plays music it is fine. If it doesn't turn on and has a red light try charging it.
To resolve this problem, establish that the player is charging correctly as follows:
Connect the player to a USB port on the back of a desktop PC, to a powered hub, or to a power adapter (separately available).
Check the display for the charging icon .
As the display times out after a few seconds, press any button on the player to reactivate the display.
If the battery is fully depleted, the charging icon may not be displayed.Cup the player in your hands to check that the blue power LED behindthe Play/Pause and Options buttons is glowing on and off repeatedly. This indicates that the player is successfully charging. After 1 hour of charging, power on the unit to activate the display. The charging icon should be displayed.
Allow the player to charge for at least 6 hours. During this time, if charging from a USB port, please ensure your PC does not enter a power conservation mode (Standby, Sleep, or Hibernate) as this will interrupt charging.

Well firstly you'll probably need to plug it in to the charger. You should probably charge it fully for a good 8 or 10 hours. Then to turn it on hold down the play-pause button at the top of the player. (Picture of triangle and lines).
Obviously until you've loaded music onto it, there will be nothing to listen to. If you'd like me to tell you how to load music onto it I can tell you.
Please reply so I can know whether this was helpful or not, and can help you further.
As long as you have the USB 2.0 type cable, and the software loaded, you can charge the ZEN V on your computer. Be sure to load the software first. It will take several hours to charge fully the first time. While it is charging you can add music. When you see the plug icon in the upper right corner, it is fully charged. Be sure you are not adding music while you disconnect. Otherwise, just pull the plug and the ZEN should play for up to 12 hours.
