I suggest you try to use or buy a new VGA Card. BF2 PC Games are high resolution format.
Good luck!

When you see some glitch to install this VGA Card, don't wait tell the PCI-E socket will not function anymore. I encounter like this VGA Card before when I try to use and run such games (NBA2k9). But when I try Leadtek 256MB VGA Card work fine.
I understand what's your feeling but don't wait your Motherboard affected too.
Good luck!

Problem With Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT

I have a similar card and experienced a similar problem on my AlienWare notebook.
Go to task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del), select the "Processes" tab and look for "Rich Video.exe".
Select it and click "End Process".
Restart the game. If this works, the best thing to do is disable the service (Start > Run > Services.msc) or delete the startup registry (Start > Run > Regedit >> HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Run > Delete the RichVideo entry.)

AGP8x GeForce 7600GT

What you can do is try reseating your videocard and making sure there is a secure connection between the DVI slot and the monitor (no cables going underneath table legs getting pinched, etc.)

Distorted graphics

The 7600 gt can work on an agp 4x motherboard only in a 4x bus speed, if your just using the cd driver that comes with the video card try updating it by downloading the latest driver in www.nvidia.com, first uninstall the driver then restart the computer then install the latest driver you downloaded

VIDEO UPGRADE

Well, this pretty much comes down to how much $ or € or any other currency you're willing to spend as well as what games you're most likely to play.

If you don't wanna spend a fortune but still get a very good and reasonable performance, you could try GeForce 7600 GT or 7800 GT [7800 GT being better]. Both of these can be had quite cheaply these days. If you want something even more powerful that doesn't require you to sell a kidney on E-bay, then try GeForce 8800 GT, more precisely MSI NX8800GT-OC. Compared to ordinary 8800GT's, this one's beefed up just a bit more. Alternatively - if you can find that specific mode - almost any would do; still, I'd recommend Asus EN8800GT.

As you may have noticed, I've suggested only nVidia cards: I've never been too much into ATI + nVidia is leading the race these last few months. However, if you want to swing ATI way, then instead of 7800 GT find yourself a some ATI 1950 XT or whatever they call it. It is roughly equivalent to the 7800.

For high end ATI's, look for 3850 HD or something akin to that - there's a lot of review online.

Remember: read reviews first - shop later.

P.S. Make sure your PCI-Express x16 slot really is a x16 by reading your motherboard manual.

Hope it helps. Rate me. Thanks.

Graphics problem

You need to take the plunge...Go XPSP2. Many games and drivers have been written/upgraded to work with SP2. Your new driver have been written to work w/ SP2. Your machines overall performance will increase. Since you seem to be a gamer I would recommend increasing the amount of memory. But you definitly need to upgrade to XPSP2. SP2 is everything XP was supposed to be but wasn't ready! Good Luck, Tim
