My Sansa C140 won't work!

It won't play my songs, and won't even show them, when hooked to the computer. It only show's like one song, and it shows it a bunch of times. It won't let me delete anything off it. It gives me an error saying: It has failed to respond, or it has been disconnected.

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the SanDisk website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

I can't take songs off the sansa c140. I hook it to the computer and only 30 songs show up (the last 30 I downloaded to it) but i have 130 songs on it. Want to get rid of some of the old stuff

Sometimes trying to delete the songs thru the media player/Itunes does not work
Try this solution:

Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

on the left hand side above the word create playlist, you'll see an eighth note next to the word music. click on the arrow next to the word music.click sansa c140 (if u have one) then click the arrow nest to sansa c140 and click on folder. then open it and you'll see a picture that looks like a stack of cds. click on it ONCE then press the delete key. it will delete allyour songs. then go back to the library and download back the songs you want.

Files invisible to Windows still play, can't delete.

These re the songs that came with the player even if it is brand new, and plus since these artists don't want these to be copied they use a special method to hide them form any OS, hope i helped....

Sansa c140

Check the Mode of the device. Settings>Mode or USB. If you transfer files in one mode, you can only view / manage them in the same mode. Best of Luck.

Sansa c140 screen frozen

Try a "hard reset". Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to shut off. With the device off, press and hold the vol + and the center select button. Power it back on, see if that works. You can add to the question if you have more questions. Best of Luck.

Well, i'm having problems with my Sansa c140 also, but with this problem I think I can help, hook your mp3 player into your computer, than delete all the songs, and simply put them all back on, and if that doesn't work, than repost.
