There is a little switch inside the battery compartment. The position used depends on whether rechargeable NiCad, or non-rechargeable batteries are used. It is labelled CHARGE OFF-ON.

As for removing the cellphone frequency block, there is a mod at www.mods.dk - search for ic-r10.

My Casio ctk 811ex wont power up anyone more.Is there an internal battery that needs replacing ? What could be causing the problem ? 2 weeks ago it was working fine

ALWAYS start with the "easy" things 1st. Is the AC outlet on the wall working properly? Is the "wall-wart" power supply working correctly? If no defect is found, check the DC power jack located on the rear of the keyboard. Does it seem to be loose or does moving the power supply jack up/down cause any change? New wall-wart power supplies can be purchased from Radio Shack and usually at a lower price than the original factory replacements.

I have an HTC 8125 and your solution worked like a charm. I modified it slightly...

Your battery has been depleted past a chargable state.  This is a due to a bad design in the phone that doesn't monitor the battery power state well enough.  It actually allows the battery to be taken under the minimum amount needed to recharge the battery.

You can fix this, but do so at your own risk.

You can simply purchase a new battery, that will work, just been sure not to let it deplete the battery totally anymore.

Now, on to the fix

-Take out the battery.
-Get any usb cable you can find sitting around. (any usb wire will do, an old printer cable, anything with a usb end that can plug into your computer)
-cut one end of the plug off. You need to leave the side on that connects to your computer. Cut off the side that plugs into a device (printer, camera, web cam, etc)
-Strip the rubber off the wire and expose the wires inside.
-Separate the wires from each other. You will only be using the BLACK and RED wires.
-strip the very end of the black and red wires carefully using a wire cutter exposing the metal wire inside the red and black covering.
-Plug in your home made battery charger to your computer. Careful not to touch any exposed metal, as it will give you a small shock.
****WARNING****
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ALLOW THE RED AND BLACK WIRE TO TOUCH EACH OTHER
****WARNING****

-now carefully hold the black wire to the negative terminal on the battery (it should be noted with a black circle with a - in the middle). Then touch the red wire to the positive terminal (it will be noted with a red circle with a + in the middle).

Hold the 2 wires there for 20 seconds. Then quickly plug the battery back into the phone, and then plug it into a regular charger. Give it little bit of time, if you've done everything correctly the charge light should come on.

I had to repeat the last step again to get the light to turn on indicating it was charging.

You must not hold the wires to the battery for too long, 20 seconds should do it. You can overload a battery with this trick and actually make it explode if you hold it there too long. You are well within the few minutes needed to detonate the battery due to overcharging by sticking very strictly to 20 seconds.

Just be careful and you'll be fine.

One you get a charge light give it a few minutes in the off position, then try powering up the device and keep it plugged in until you get 100% charge.

Good luck,

Peter

The dual charger does not charge the batteries

Simply fix the wall wart. AE6JI 704-745-2067 Extra Class FCC VEC +45 years practical electronics.

There is a fine wire, (under the paper wrapping) or on the transformer, re-close, and it will work 99% of the time.

WARNING random wall warts WILL vary, up to 200% of what their rating label states!

Next time do not have the wall wart plugged into the Wall AC, until AFTER you plug it into the radio.

How to replace the battery?

You haven't identified the brand or model so that makes it tough to help, but most computer speakers don't have batteries unless they are designed for portability such as laptop use. Desktop speakers are usually powered via 110AC with an internal converter or are powered by an external transformer or wall wart. If yours are battery powered, located the batteries/cover and replace!

My new netbook will not charge , the charge light wont come on,, or charge my netbook

I suspect that your battery is drained so low that the charger is locked out as a safety measure. Li-Ion batteries have a small programmed chip embedded in the battery pack that monitors the voltage level of the battery. If this voltage falls below 3.0 V per cell the chip shuts the battery down to prevent from fast charging and causing a fire. Try this, take the battery out and put it into your freezer for about an hour, take it out and reinstall, and see if it goes back to charging. Why this works, I haven't discovered a reasonable explanation, but it works sometimes.

The charger, (wall Wart) may not be functioning, you have to check it with a multi-meter to see if it is putting out the the 9V dc necessary to charge the battery pack.

Charger won't charge

The unit is probably bad. Mine just died turned out its the wall wart. The wall wart is a transformer only set up and outputs about 17VAC. The DC conversion is done in the clip. Only option I found was to replace the charger with the new multivolt charger , Upside batteries charge in about an hour to hour+1/2 vice 3 hours.

Coleman lantern fan am/fm radio

This lantern/fan/radio combination does not use/accept batteries. It is recharged using the black A/C adapter provided with the lantern. I hope you received the adapter with the lantern when you bought it @ the garage sale? You plug the adapter into the little circular opening just above the round spotlight on the lantern. Hope this helps!
