Dewalt Dc011 radio will not work unless the battery pack is in.

Almost certainly yes, but ask the DeWalt Service Department. They will know.

Sounds like you may have left your radio in direct sunlight fot too long. first thing to check is the batterys- they could have been "cooked". A possiblelsAo also possible that the batterys sweated inside thier compartment so the contacts would need to be cleaned. for this, use cotton swabs dipped in 90 percent rubbing alcahol.

i have put 2 new batteries but cant get radio 2 work

if you place a battery in it and it still doesnt work you have to have it repaired by dewalt because this means you have no connection to power. but if you place a battery in it and it does work you have a short in the cord mostly happens when being pulled or gets snagged. either you or dewalt can fix the cord you jus have to find where the short is cut the cord and splice it back together covering it with electrical tape.

could be a fuse in the radio. check with your local dewalt dealer.

Check fuses inside. Check fuse and connections in plug. If this is a 110v radio there is one on transformer winding.
