Today, my four-year old Canon I850 stopped printing every fourth or fifth line of text Paper tray is full. Cartridges are full. No settings have been changed. Any suggestions. Thanks. Lindagolfer.
I have the same problem, every 4th line does not print. I ran the recommended maintenance sequence (cleaning, deep cleaning, print head alignment, nozzle check), no luck! Try running your maintenance program. go to your printer settings right click on canon i850 left click on properties run cleaning or deep cleaning, then print head alignment and/or nozzle check

3 blinks is a line feed error, something stopping the platen roller from turning, look inside where the paper goes and see if something fell in like an ink pen, paper clip, just something that doesn't belong. The platen roller is the gray roller behind the carriage and sometimes you can see thru under the white plastic guides something jammed.
When you print photos you print in Max dpi, for this no faded lines anywhere. Probably you have a problem only in black color in print head. Мay be it's partially clogged or partially defective.
Check your default paper size on both the document program you are using and the printer. You could have it set for 5X7 and that's what it will figure for, even with 8 1/2X11 paper.
can u see any part of paper anywhere in paper ,usually it gets stucked on the back side in the fuser assy ,remember dont try to remove any paper with any metalic tool even if u find any peice of paper
Chewbacca08's solution gave me an idea. I set the print setting to photos paper (even though I was trying to print on plain paper) and IT WORKED. It's worth a shot before you trash a perfectly good printer.

I have the same problem. I did all of the maintenance and even reinstalled the drivers and still not printing every 4-5 line.
I have done everything suggested in Solution No. 1. No change.
