What model and brand is your television?
Is it a CRT type or DLP?
If picture is getting smaller then larger, and its a crt rear projection television sound like you have bad connections around the Flyback transformer and or horizontal circuits. This usually happens when a connection is made on the circuit board and the picture returns to normal especially during a cold start, but as the television warms up the connections on the board start to seperate and the problem starts occuring or it could be in the reverse process. Unstable at first then when tv gets warm it make better connections. All in all have a technician check the HV section of your deflection board.

LCT TV picture blurry with black smudges until it warms up

No easy way short of monitoring with a scope and or voltmeter, based on age of set I would first "look" at all the filter caps in the main power supply--bad ones when they get hot can regain some function:

Screen is turning purple and green dose this cost lots to fix?

It sounds like your tube Shadow Mask may have got magnetised and need to be degaussed.

Turn off your TV at the mains and unplug it for at least two to three hours. Longer the better. After that time power up your TV it should degauss the tube at power up.

Worth a try before you give up on it. Or else get your picture tube replaced. It may be more economical than purchasing a new television. Also try to have the picture tube of an old color T.V as modern picture tubes lacks quality when compared to older ones. But check those tubes thoroughly before buying it.

My pictures are too large to email, why

open up your camera like you are going to take a picture, and click your blackberry button. go to options, inside there you will find picture size and picture quality. change your picture size to medium and your quality to fine. if they pictures are still too big, then just play around with those settings until something works. Hope this helps.

Toshiba rear projection has a very fragmented picture

By fragmented, do you mean pixelated?? If so, it may be worth trying different inputs to make sure that it`s the set and not the external equipment that is producing pixelated pictures, The primary fault that you may have could be due to the age of the set. Most CRT/TUBE TV sets start taking longer and longer to come on as they get older because the uPC (Computer) performs various checks on the set and one of these checks involves beam current. Basically, if one or all tubes were getting soft or poor due to age, the uPC would mute the video signal until such times that the tubes had warmed up sufficiently to provide a good picture. Basically, if this is the case, then it`s getting tired and if the delay gets to a point where it becomes unacceptable, then a replacement set is the only option. I hope this is helpful to you, Ian

Rolling of picture

Hi,
You camera is PAL and you are attaching with Ntsc TV or VCR. Both Pal and Ntsc are different systems and incompatible to each other.
If you want to see correct playback of your Camera, it requires Pal or Multi-System color TV.
Need further info, please let me know.

Picture darker/less color/smaller until warm up

Hi there!
Have you checked for dust on the Tubes and mirror? This may cause a bad picture quality. Also power supply related problems like capacitors can cause a dark picture. Try replacing some of them in the power supply area and line stage. Also adjustments in the service mode, but for this you will need the service manual. Good Luck,JUS004

Picture is Rolling..stops after some warm-up

I have seen this many times. There is a 9 volt regulator on the small signal board that causes this. The regulator goes bad and the 9 volts starts dropping, especially at start-up when the regulator is cold. If the voltage is below 8 volts then the picture gets dark and the vertical becomes unstable, with the picture squeezing down and/or rolling. As the regulator warms up the voltage starts rising back towards 9 volts and the symptoms start clearing up. There are 3 regulators in a row on the board and the regulator in the middle is always the bad one. Replacing that regulator should cure your problems but it should be replaced by someone experienced in servicing Mitsubishi projection TV's because pulling the chassis out is quite tricky.
