I most likely need additional information to ensure this is in fact the correct resolution to your remote issue- but it sounds as though the remote may be in tv mode. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, which will enable you to be able to press select to proceed past the DISH Network screen. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote just press SAT once and then release, the button should briefly light up red & then will go off, you can then press select and as long as the SAT button lights up when you press select or any other button on the remote then your all set to go! I hope this helps -please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with! -Kirstie DISH Network

Dish network Blue screen No "Signal

Hi john harrison!

A blue screen with "No Signal" is usually related to a video problem. The TV may be getting changed off the correct input/channel, or the video cable might be going bad.

If you have a spare, I would recommend a different cable and seeing if that fixes the problem. If it continues, verify the input/channel your TV is on when it receives a picture and if it goes out try putting it back on that input/channel.

If problems still continue I would be happy to review additional options with you. You can reach me here or at [email protected]

Acquiring signal this should not take more than 5 minutes to complete

j kapelke,

I understand how frustrating signal loss can be. I do have a few steps we can try to get this fixed.

Unplug the receiver for 10 seconds then plug it back in, and see if anything changes. If not, press the "Menu" button on the upper left of the remote. From there, go to System Information (6) -> Installation (1) -> Point Dish (1) and select Check Switch on the right. Select test, and once the test finishes it will go back to the screen or may pop up a message. If it goes back to the same screen, exit out and try again.

If it continues or you get any messages you can let me know here or email me directly at [email protected] A technician may need to go out to look at this.

What channel should I turn my tv to? i have dish

If you have Dish, your remote should have a selection for TV/VIDEO located just under the SAT and TV buttons on the upper left of the remote. Push the TV button, push the TV/VIDEO button, and you should be able to reset the TV to Satellite.

After you've reset the TV, remember to push the SAT button on the upper left to allow your remote to access the satellite.

DISH DVR doesn't respond to remote

  1. If this is a TV2 location take the remote to the location of the DVR.
  2. Open the door on the right side of your receiver.
  3. Press SYS INFO.
  4. Press Record multiple times on your remote.
  5. Exit the screen and see if the remote works, if not replace the batteries and repeat steps 1-4
  6. If the remote still doesnt work, and this is a tv2 location (no receiver in the room with the tv) check the antenna on the back of your receiver, make sure that it is connected tightly and standing straight up.
  7. If none of this works call Dish and ask for a new remote.

Dish menu but no picture or sound

Try holding the power button in on the receiver until the picture goes away then turn it aloose it will reboot and your sound will usually come back. If you had rather and can get to it unplugging it from the electric outlet, the receiver, does the same thing.

Channel lock

Sounds like the unversal remote isnt programmed for your particular TV. See if the instruction manual gives the details for how to do that. If not, call them to see if they can walk you through it. If that doesnt work, go buy a big screen TV.

Dish 722 not acquiring signal on boot up. must disconnect antenna cable and reconnet then works fine. Dish Tech support is useless and my contract is up in 1 month, so I am considering canceling. Any This problem began about 6 months ago. Nothing unusual happened that I am aware of. When the system is first booted, it will stay on the acquiring satellite screen with no progress and ultimately fail. If I disconnect the antenna (LNB) cable and reconnect then it immediately shows progress and acquires the satellites and works fine until it is shut off and restarted again. Dish Tech support is useless, no they are LESS then useless. I have tried replacing the antenna dish and lnb, running new cable from antenna to receiver, replaced the splitter switch (for 1 and 2) all with no success, so I have concluded this issue must be with the 722 receiver itself. As I mentioned I have made 3 attempts to get help from dish with no success ("maybe there are clouds in the way every time you boot the receiver and they happen to disappear just when you disconnect and reconnect the cable" <<< No I am not kidding). I thought it might be a grounding issue so I ran a separate ground directly to the antenna dish with no success. SInce the 1000.2 antenna does not require a seperate switch, I have tried connecting the LNB cable to each of the 4 inputs on the LNB with the same result on each. We live in Florida so we shut the receiver off when we are not home to reduce the danger of lightning damage, consequently this problem becomes an irritant on a daily basis. Any ideas? My contract with dish ends in 1 month so if I cannot fix this, I am most likely going to switch to cable or directtv. Except for this problem the unit works properly as does the dvr.
