I have a 1 year old fwd-42pv1 which has developed small red & green interference / noise spots on the display.
The spots only appear when the screen is active (i.e. no picture, no spots)
It started intermittently, but has become worse over the last 2 months - I have tried using different inputs (component, analogue), but it has made no difference.
See if it happens when set first turned on or when it heats up then check if fans working properly

I have these noise lines on my Sony Plasma. It is slightly older but the lines occur at all times when the TV is on. It looks like you would need to adjust some sort of Rabbit Ears to get the picture right again (obviously there are no rabbit ears) Please say my 4K TV hasn't reached it's half life??? Talk to me.
I have the same problem, green and red flickering spots on the right 25% of the picture. Seems to be getting worse.
I have been experiencing the same problem. It's not very apparent, except when you're standing in front of the tv within 8ft; Then, it is very obvious that the middle third of the Sony Fwd-42pv1 monitor has alot of red and green "sparkles."
I have it hooked up to a cable box putting out HD Tv via the component cable to SVGA connector that came with the monitor. I also have my PS3 connected via HDMI to DVI. And finally, I have my Wii connected via S-video cable. When I'm at viewing distance (on my couch,) the sparkles are not visible. The monitor is actually pretty good and I'm happy with it overall and for the money. My Pioneer 42" plasma is sharper and does not suffer from the same sparkle issue.
