If you want to use the USB cable to connect the Camcorder to the Computer to transfer the video to the Computer then:

(Applicable for Vista Operating System Only.)

This Camcorder does not support USB streaming with the VISTA Operating System. Use an i.LINK cable to transfer the video to the Computer. The i.LINK port is also called IEEE 1394 or Firewire port. (An i.LINK is a black D shaped connector with 4 or 6 pins. The type of cable to be used will depend on the i.LINK port of your Computer. The Sony Camcorder will have the 4 pin i.LINK cable and if the computer has the 6 pin i.LINK port, then you may have to use the 4 pin to 6 pin i.LINK Cable).

You can use any video capturing software like Windows Movie Maker to transfer the video from the Camcorder to the Computer.

Refer this Link for the instruction to transfer the video to the Computer using i.LINK cable.

NOTE: As the Camcorder does not support USB streaming with Vista, it is not required to use any Sony Device Driver to transfer the video to the Computer. You do not require any Drivers or Software from Sony to transfer the video from the Camcorder to the Computer using the i.LINK/Firewire interface.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need driver for panasonic nv-gs27

You might be connecting the Camcorder using USB interface. The drivers for USB streaming is not available for Vista and Windows 7..
Operating System also matters..
If you're using XP OS, you can install the driver from supplied CD and use Windows Movie Maker to transfer the recordings using USB interface.
Vista, Windows 7 - You need to use i.LINK or A/V interface to transfer the recording. When using i.LINK with Vista, you can use the Picture Motion Browser software.
I think this will definitely help you to connect the Camcorder..

Everio movie editing

First check sound settings on control panel, ensure volume is not at minimum and computer audio is not muted. Test playing a CD.

this is usually due to Media Player or whatever player you use on your pc, not having the right codecs to decompress sound from camera file.

Usually you sort it out upgrading media player, you can download update from links below.

  1. Windows Media Player 10
  2. Cumulative update for Windows Media Player 11 in Windows Vista

I have a sony handycam dcr hc36 and I also possess ppackage cd and which has been installed in my hp laptop -window vista when I am connecting my camera to laptop for streaming, there is no response,...

Connect your camera to your PC by means of FireWire cable, that is the solution.

-Stable,trouble free data transfer during video capture.
-Video transferred at its maximum resolution 720*576 pixels or something like that compared to 340*240 via USB transfer.
-100% supported by any video editing program, even the simplest Window Movie Maker. In other words, forget Sony's software - use something else that wouldn't run you.

Of course, those Firewire cable&card might be not very globally available like USB device. But still easy to find and relatively cheap to buy anyway.

I need picture package software

Forget those software.

Even windows movie maker can do as good job (if not better than) those pic.package thing. But you need to use Firewire cable&card to do the job.Firewire connection is also far superior than USB cable connection, too.

I'm having a problem with Windows Movie Maker. It's an intermittent problem, but causing the amount of time editing to be greatly increased. When a portion of the video is cut out, the screen will...

Your laptop may have frozen up due to the lack of power of the pc towards the power that vista and movie maker **** up. Try shutting off all background programs you are not using. You could also try defragging the computer (I recommend Defraggler by Piriform). This will most likely pull the video out of a bad spot on the hard drive.

Cannot get windows movie maker to capture video from acer crystal eyeball webcam

Hi,
The latest Windows Movie Maker that came with the Live Messenger update is a beta version, and is a bit buggy just now, but will improve with updates. Make sure you have checked the Video capture settings in m.maker and chosen the acer instead of the default camera. And also that you have the Acer Crystal Eyeball usb driver installed properly.
If you still have problems, a good alternative program is videocaster.
You could check that one out.. Just click on 'Capture Video' when it opens.. You can edit, add music. stream to the web etc

Hope this helps

Gs- 11 panasonic camcorder - video transfer help

You need to connect your DV socket (the one next to the USB ) via firewire to your PC. If you don't have one on your PC you'll need to install a firewire card. You will also need Video editing software. If you have XP the windows movie maker should work.
