The rubber hose usually goes on the back of the black box located on top of the motor. There is usually a nut that comes off, the hose goes through this nut, the hose then fits on the small nipple in the center of where the nut was removed. Slide the nut up to the box and tighten finger tight to hold the hose in place. If there is no box on the pump. follow the electrical plug from the outlet, sometimes the control box is mounted on the tubing or side of the tub.

Air Switch Repair
It sounds like you have a bad air switch located in your motor.
The air switch is what the air hose connects to on the back of the motor or on the box on top of the motor. The other end of the air hose is connected to the air button on the lip of the tub.
This is a latching air switch and when you push the air button it latches to send power to the motor. When the air button is pushed again it opens the latch in the air switch and stops power going to the motor shutting it off.

When washing machine fills with water to rinse, the water does not cut off.

Easy fix. No parts needed. All washers have a water level switch of some sort.
themobilian_2034.jpg
Each switch has a small rubber tube attached to it. The tubing goes down under to the base of the tub. As the water level rises the pressure builds inside that tubing. When the desired level is reached the switch kills the water works and starts the motor works. Off she goes a washing. What you must do is find the water level switch and remove that hose. Blow out the sediment in the base of the tub and reattach that hose securely. Then pump out the water in the tub so that the pressure can have a chance to build in that tubing. Retry and party on!

I have a kohler jet tub that has never been hooked up properly. There is a clear plastic hose from the on off switch inside top of tub. Where soes it get hooked to the motor to make it work?

yes. that clear hose goes onto the air switch on the back of the motor. once that is hooked up if you push the air button then the pump should turn on/off for you.

I have a jetted tub that has not been used in years, but still worked until recently. When I went to use it you could push the button all the way in with no response from the motor. So just wondering if...

the button is an air switch, check the simple things first. your tub is connected to a gfi plug or breaker, try reseting the breaker first.next is the air hose from the button to the pump connected,is it split or have a hole in it. with the access door removed pump the button and listen for an air leak, if so remove hose just by pulling on it, most hardware stores carry the same hose and sell it by the foot.

I have a whirlpool bath in my master bath in my mobile home, years ago my grandson pushed the button to activate the jets without water in the tub, it hasn't worked since, yesterday I had a friend who is...

the air switch should be connected to a switch by the motor the air switch is ur on off and should run from the button to another switch by motor the air switches were put in so there was not live wiring by the tub surface ,the the tub button/switch is like a bellows and pushes air into tube to turn switch on/off

We are an electrical contractor. A client asked

There arn't any provisions for ejecting water out of the pumps that i know of. The pipes are installed on the tub so that they will gravity drain back into tub. The pump wouldn't be able to run unless fully submersed in water above the jets, i mean it will but not for long. I would sugest disconnecting elec. to pump until you resolve the issue or else the pump will burn.
-This sounds like some kind of air switch problem. Something is causing the air switch to sense the air pressure excerted through the air hose without the button being pushed. This is the only thing it really could be since the power to the pump goes through this switch. I cant imagine anything else causing this other than a faulty air switch on the pump itself. This would mean the pump would need to be replaced since the air switch is sealed in place at factory. Unless some how, some way, air pressure is increasing in the air hose all by itself, not likely. But check the air hose connections on the pump and the button on the tub, if you can even see it. The hose may be partially attached and any slight movement while partially attached could push air into the switch but thats kind of a long shot. I dont know if a craked or split air hose could cause this to happen but i guess its possible.
-If i had to bet on it i would definatly say the pump switch is defective.
Good luck!.............T.Wood CFE Plumbing
