Hello,
I was wondering if you knew what it meant when the camcorder does not want to load the Mini DV tape. Everytime I insert the tape and push it so it loads, it automatically spits it out. Do you know if there is a way out of it or if it is fixable??
Thank you soo much,
Nicole

Hi,

Usually when a device (or any device for that matter) spits a tape out, it usually means the tape isn't sitting properly inside. There could by some obstruction preventing the tape from going in properly. Check to see the tape is in it's regular form...it hasn't changed shape dramatically. Make sure no foreign objects (sticker...lint) are on the surface of the tape (on all sides) and inside the camcorder. Maybe the tape isn't being inserted properly (try inserting at proper angle) and do it gently. If it still doesn't work, it could be that the tape has malfunctioned or in the worst case scenerio, the camcorder loading mechanism has malfunctioned (meaning it needs to be serviced).

I have a JVC GR-D20 E and the problem is that when a full mini-dv tape plays the screen stays blue.

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. You can try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be serviced by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

Hi, when I try to operate with my JVC GR-D20E it displays "condensation, operation failed please wait" Thanks

it is might possible that the main or shutter ic has got some moisture...see a jvc service center in this case and do not operate it for few days..

if you still remember this is not due to moisture problem, the firmware may have got corrupted firmware which has happened due to virus insertion during data transfer with pc or mmc.. see jvc authorised service station for this.

Does this cam, play the mini dv tapes????

If you are referring to the JVC GR-DVL520, yes it does play Mini DV tapes, as well as records to them. It will not play Mini DV tapes that were recorded on an HDV camera. HDV is used by any Mini DV camera that records HD video.

E04 Error

Eject tape leaving cover open and remove battery. Re-insert battery and re-insert tape also leaving cover open. Keep repeating this process until eo4 message disappears. This worked for my GR-DVL100e after about four repeats. After getting your camcorder operational, they say it is good practice not to leave tape in camcorder when not in use.

JVC GR-D370 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

Usually when the recording is started it takes around 10 to 15 seconds for the camera to recognise and display the duration of remaining tape, if you feel there is a problem, try using different brand tape.
