SOURCE: Change delivery server IP Address

I had this problem with an Aficio 2018D using scan router ScanRouter V2 Lite. The MFP would say it couldn't update the delivery list. Deleting/Reinstalling SW, resetting the I/O device and so on, nothing worked. At last I had to use the SP 5845 (see maintenance manual) to manually change the Delivery Server IP address, which was initially set to 127.0.0.1 and had by then been corrupted to 0.0.0.0, to 192.168.1.227 which was the IP address of the WinXP where ScanRouter was running (of course port 3870/tcp must be opened as exception in Windows Firewall). The scanner immediately "saw" the delivery list, updated by itself and, touching wood, worked like a charm ever since.

SOURCE: setting Ip address on canon c3220 imagerunner.

Is the Canon connected with a cable that's connected to an active port. You can try to Fixed IP hold down 1 & 7 When you power up the machine, make the necessary network configurations and see if pings back with a reply.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Why can't I print on cloud print with my canon inkjet mp830. It keeps saying "printer offline"

Hi, you may find that opening port 5222 in your router settings corrects this for you. This is due to Google Cloud Print (GCP) needing to poll your printer, if the port is not open then GCP will not get a response from your printer, therefore will show it as offline.

It is also possible that your firewall is blocking communications so you would need to open the same port (5222) in your firewall / antivirus software.

Warning: Ports are often closed on a router to help prevent unauthorized access to your home network. Opening any additional ports on your router may decrease the overall security of your network.

  1. To use port forwarding first determine the local IP address of the computer or device you are forwarding the port to.
  2. Open your router configuration / settings menu.
  3. Once in the router configuration locate the port forwarding settings, often in a section such as Applications & Gaming or Port forwarding. I would suggest that if you are having difficulties with this to refer to your router documentation or call their support line.
  4. You will only need to open port 5222.
  5. Give your new rule a name that you will recognise.
  6. Next enter the port number 5222, if you are asked for Externet and Internet enter 5222 in both.
  7. The protocol is TCP.
  8. Next is the IP address of the computer.
  9. Don't forget to check the enabled box if there is one and save changes.
If you have any issues with this I would suggest Port Forward web site where specific instructions should be available for your router.

My lanier is making dark copies

One of the most common reasons for a Lanier 5222 or 5227 to make dark copies is a problem with the drum unit or developer. Fortunately on those machines, the drum unit and developer are all self-contained in one easily-replacable unit, called the PCU (photoconductor).

If you don't have a new PCU handy, you can order one from the same company you get your toner from. The PCU should generally be replaced every 60,000 copies, but sometimes it may need to be replaced sooner (especially if you run a lot of dark copies or make a lot of copies of images) and it can often run longer than 60,000.

Replacing the PCU is easy -- it sits right next to the toner bottle, and all you have to do is slide the old PCU out and slide the new PCU in (once you remove all of the tape and other trappings from it). Instructions will be included in the box with the new PCU.

Please rate the effectiveness of this solution. Thank you!

Error code SC302

From the Ricoh-Lanier Error Code Sheet:
SC302: Charge Corona Output Error 3 - Grid Voltage error - Charger Roller Current Leak.

I would suggest replacing first the charge roller and if that doesnt fix it, the HIgh Voltage Supply Board.

Lanier LD 024c

You need to check the DNS server. Press user tools, system settings, interface settings. This screen will display IP address settings. There is a DNS selection. Put the Ip address for the DNS in there. (obtain by, Windows desktop screen, Start, run, type cmd in the input box, enter, at the prompt, type ipconfig /all. it will bring up your settings. write down the DNS setting.)

Now, your SMTP server setting can be obtained by going into your Email account settings. There will be a spot for servers. If you are using Microsoft exchange server, you can use the server name or its IP address. Otherwise, it will be your ISP email server setting. You can just call your ISP and get the outgoing server name. Once obtained, go into user tools. system settings, file transfer and plug in into the SMTP option. I think if I'm not mistaken, there is a connection test there as well. (The 024 might be too old to have that) That should do it. You may need to enter in a email name and password for athentication.

If you have any problems, you can call the Lanier help desk too. 800-424-1573

Printing to an LC031

The mini centronix port is used to update your fiery. You need to set up an IP address, Subnet address, and gateway on the fiery. Then go to WWW.lanier.com, and download the LC031 print driver, or E7000 fiery I believe. You may want to check the fiery model. Then is a matter of installing the driver, and pointing it to the IP address.
