Sony Handycam DCR-TRV145E CCD Image Sensor Fitting

Mostly. image sensor causes the blank screen, but especially the Iris is the problem in this model.

Please install your Sony pictures motion browser in your computer then paired them to get the copy on your computer

Please make certain you have the right tape in the camera, you need Digital 8 tapes, I get my own from Argos, got a pack of 3 today, £17 per 3.

CCD sensor problem ( that you can play back but have no image in capture mode is typical of this common problem ). Sony might do this repair free of charge because properly manufactured CCD sensor should last 10 years+ .

the ccd image sensor is the problem of your camera....it have to be replace with the new sensor....i do not know if it is still free for replacing the sensor but the model of your camera is one of sony the recall product....because the ccd image sensor have a factory error..

It has recently come to our attention that a limited number of Sony Camcorders that incorporate an image sensor device, CCD Chip, manufactured from October 2002 through March 2004 may exhibit the following condition:


When the Camcorder is used in camera mode, the LCD panel and/or electronic viewfinder will show either a distorted image or no image.


We have determined that this condition only occurs to a limited number of units.


In its effort to ensure customer satisfaction, Sony has elected to offer a free repair to the owners of applicable Camcorders if the image sensor device, CCD chip, causes one of the above-mentioned conditions. ccd image sensor of your camera is already damage...go to the sony service center for replacing the ccd...the model of your camera is one of the recall products due to the factory error of the ccd image sensor production...

check on ebay for a back - up camera ( that model has a good history ) and / or get an estimate on yours , for a price comparison ; if the main board has failed ( corrosion , etc ) repairs will likely exceed replacement cost ;
