Dell latitude d510 new battery wont charge

Hi, I just replace my Dell D510's battery with a new one but when I plug in the charger it won't charge it. I used another dell charger from a newer inspiron and it worked, i was wondering if this has to do something with my charger and if there is a fix for this or do i have to get a new charger?

The laptop charger is the problem, try to fix it if you can or buy a new one with warranty..

SOURCE: Dell Latitude D510 video card doesn't support texture acceleratio

I doubt it very much. laptop videocards are usually part of the motherboard, so unless you want to do that...
Also, take into account that, although you can play games in a laptop computer, their video performance is usually very poor. They are not designed for heavy gaming

My dell latitude d510 is not charging and i the icon is not on it

Take the battery out and wait a few minutes. Then place it back in and see if the light to the battery charging indicator goes on.
Check the plug that goes into the laptop from the charger. Look to see if it's frayed or has exposed parts. My need a new charger.

Latitude 510 battery light flashing amber and white

Hello, the problem you are having is caused by a loose connection on your motherboard between the charging port and the motherboard. You can either open your computer and try to solder it, or you will need to replace the motherboard.

Another possible cause is that your laptop charger is dead. If you can't confirm, just get a new ac adapter, it is much cheaper than replacing the motherboard:

I was using my dell latitude d510 just fine the other day the only thing that was wrong is the battery wont charge so it always had to be plugged in. well from using the charger so much it finally stop...

The problem could be with the port the cord connects too. It could also be with the battery. If you take the battery out, and you still can't run on AC power, you need to replace the port. Take it to a computer/hardware shop and have it done.

Wont charge

The most common cause of this is the input jack being broken off of the mother board. There is a fair amount of stress on the jack which is surface mounted onto the motherboard. It is common for the connection to break off. This can be fixed easily by anyone that works on surface mounted equipment. Please note that the laptop will need to be dis-assembled to gain access to the area that needs repair. This is a fairly involved process and should not be attempted by someone not familiar with laptops. Expect to pay around $100 for this repair. No parts should be required.
