Even with brand new batteries it frequently will not switch on

Especially when I want to take a sequence of pictures (3 or4) the C643 just switches off leaving the lens extended. Leave it ten/twenty minutes and suddenly it starts up again. Often the camera looks as if it will start and the green light comes on first, but then the red one stops everything.
I have had the C643 for about 2 years and previously had no problems - could it just be built in obsolescence?
As far as the pictures themselves and the uploading to computer, I have only the best experience.

SOURCE: Problematic Camera

I just discovered that the real problem is a STICKY SHUTTER BUTTON, staying down after taking a picture. This prevents the green ready light from coming on until I jiggle the shutter button. It has actually started to be hard to press, making a definite clicking sound as it goes down. I can even feel it catch on something. If I move it around a bit, it will eventually come up, allowing the ready light to reset. Can this be cleaned? How about adding a drop of WD40 or something? Anybody ever take one of these apart? Any tips as to how to do it safely??? Thanks.

I cannot switch on my laptop. it was working fine last night, but in the morning, my laptop refused to get switched on. nothing happens even if I press the on button, no blinking of anything, no booting,...

You might try to remove and reseat the battery. Jiggle the plug for your charger just to make sure that it can deliver charge to your computer.

You may be needing a new battery for your laptop, especially if the laptop seemed to require more frequent charging.

Look for guidance on your manufacturer's web site about care and charging of your laptop's battery.

My c643 does not come on at all. I put new batteries in and nothing.. what should i do?

i find only certain brands of batteries will work, keep trying and maybe when you first turn it on after installing new batteries turn it one clockwise click (not sure what the icon is that it will point to) and see if that clears it up.

I put in brand new batteries and the camera says it needs new batteries

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)

C643 won't turn of, screen is black

The problem you describe is frequently the result of dirty/corroded battery contacts in the camera. Try removing the batteries and cleaning the inside contacts with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. Remove any residue left from the cleaning, then replace the batteries. Hopefully all will be well.

If the cleaning doesn't work you might want to check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

Camera won't turn on with new batteries or power cord

I heard from another posting on here and the answer, that someone took fine sandpaper and cleaned off the terminal ends of both battery and camera and blew out the dust particles from that before replacing the battery, then then camera worked. I have yet to try it with my Kodak camera that is 2 years old and suddenly died too! The batteries are fine and work in other cameras.

My plasma tv switching off byself

Sounds to me like your internal cooling fans are not working. Try placing a fan behind your tv and seeing if it stays on longer. If it does then you'll know it's a problem with these fans. Not expensive to fix but not easy to do either.
