PLEASE BE ADVISED TAMPERING WITH YOUR SERVICE MENU MAY VERY WELL COMPLETELY DISABLE YOUR DISPLAY

Turn Melody off in the user menu this allows entering the Service Menu from "power on" state without using an additional lamp cycle.

With the set off, press Mute-1-8-2-Power in quick succession.

The service menu will appear for the input you were viewing before keying the above sequence in a minute or less.

Use the CH up the CH down and the select keys to navigate the Service Menu. Press MENU to return to the main Service Menu after viewing individual functions.

Later, you will use the VOL(+) and VOL(-) keys to change the Service Menu values.

The power cord normally goes through the Main switch and into the power supply section which is the SMPS. You will find the main fuse and the AC filters before it feeds to the rectifier section.

In what way is the color off? Does it appear like a 3D movie? If so, the convergence circuit has a problem. This could be as simple as a bad solder joint on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Figure on $40-$60 for parts plus the local labor rate if you need a service center, just the parts cost if you fix it yourself.

Tv picture colors are out of phase. There's a warp at the top of the screen and for much of it the colors have separated into RGB causing doubles of the picture. Its a Samsung projection "55 HDTV.
You must replace the conversion IC's. Part number: STK-392-xxx
Make sure you also change any open resitors!!!.

I hope this helps.

Yes there is one more step. You should call the technician out and have them set up the Magic Focus adjustments. I have serviced these televisions for years and I have made this mistake and had to return to fix it. You should not have to pay for a rework. The technician should have done the complete job the first time.

Use a site like servicemanuals.com and get the service literature for your make/model.Do NOT perform factory reset procedure-that is reserved for when certain parts are changed.You will need the access sequence,adjust info and add to memory step for servicer convergence.Keep in mind--you may have defective convergence IC's.If so,you will have difficulty w/alignment.Use OEM or better IC's no generics!! They won't hold up.

Elissa, unless you have some basic electronics experience probably not, what your describing is one of the most common projection tv problems there is, but it will require replacing a few components on a circuit board. You will need to solder and possibly check resistance values of a few resistors. I will say there is no need for a samsung servicer, any tv repair place will know how to repair this problem. Probably will cost around 300 if you have somebody to your home. I don't think your looking for the Technical details but if so replace the 2 large STK amplifiers probably (STK392-040) and test all resistors and fuses in input/output ckts, replace accordingly.
