Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

My computer is not reconizing my sansae250, i have the vista system

I'm connecting the mp3 player in a usb port but my computer tells me it needs the pilot and i'm not finding it on internet. I've already install the cd and nothing seems to happen. Is it imposible to run this mp3 player with vista?

I just moved back with my family and do not have my computer though my sister has an ipod USB cord but my sansa MP3 player 6.0GB wont recharge, how can i get my sister's computer to recognize my MP3 player?

First, try connecting the player into another computer just to make sure that there's no problem with the player.

Now, if the problem is isolated with Windows Vista, all you have to do is to update the USB driver of your computer or enable the USB Legacy Support and the problem should be resolved.

Which USB ports are you using? I just had this issue on a customer's computer and it turns out that a 5 port USB 2.0 hub they had installed in the pc wasn't functioning properly and so I would get a code 10 on their iPod nano. I plugged it into the onboard USB 1.0 ports and it installed correctly and synched. I would suggest trying other USB ports. If that doesn't work then go to Programs and Features in Control Panel and uninstall all apple products and then reboot and reinstall iTunes.

You might need a new USB cord. Try launching iTunes before connecting the iPod, and using a different USB port. If that doesn't work, try a different cord ( maybe borrow one )

The actual MP3 player should display a USB connection on the screen, if not, I would say its a connection issue (bad USB cable), my guess is your using a laptop, a lot of laptops disable their USB power options, you probably need to re-enable your USB ports, if desktop, it should show a USB connection on MP3, if not, battery or cable issue.

How do i make my mp3 connect with my computer

I had the same problem. I had not had any problems for months and suddenly it wouldn't connect. I got on live chat w/ Sony (3 times) and finally got someone who seemed to know what they were doing. I have a Sony computer and they had to send me a link for a USB "patch". After downloading it, it fixed it.

yes, you may need to get a new port. did you try restarting your iPod by holding in the center and menu button? if that doesnt work then its definatly your port. good luck!

check if your usb cord if defective.

To check if the mp3 is recognized by the computer go to device manager in the compuer properties.

Go to device manager go to hardware tab and search for new hardware, if you see a question mark in the usb port it means that the computer cant recognize it and you may need a driver. Some mp3 have cd installer of its software. Install it in your computer. and try if the computer can recognize it.

also check if your usb port is working properly...

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
