Are you running a virus program and which one, some drag systems down. Do you know what programs are loading at start up. What missing files does it say your missing. When did you start to notice this problem. I you would let me know these things and I sure I can help you. JimmyC

Can't reboot starts out li9ke noremal trhen a very quick blue screen and i have to restart the boot process all over againj

I came across this kind of situaiton on my HP laptop (win 7) and ended up with eliminating it with a boot program called BuitSuite and it helped entered my Windows and resolved the program. It seems that there is a system file missing which lead to error loading error when you boot. Hope it will also help in your case, best regards.

Notebook says that windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt <windows root>/system32/hal.dll.

Causes of the missing or corrupt hal.dll error include, naturally, a damaged hal.dll DLL file or a hal.dll file that has been deleted or moved from its intended location. Additional causes may include a damaged or missing boot.ini file or possibly a physically damaged hard drive.

To fix it:
1) Restart your PC, sometimes the hall.dll error could be an error itself and your PC should boot up fine.
2) Go into the BIOS by pressing the Delete key as the laptop boots. Then navigate to disk boot priority and make sure this is set to your main hard drive (the one that has Windows installed on it). Save and exit the BIOS. Sometimes if you have a USB flash drive/Pen drive or external hard drive it may automatically switch the boot priority to that.
If these two quick steps don't fix the problem then head over to here and continue reading up about repairing the boot.ini file.

Restarting

Try going into safe mode and see if the machine will keep running. If it does then start disabling start up programs until you find the culprit. If it won't keep running in safe mode then suspect hardware fault and take it in for repair.

Dell 100l ntdrl missing on start up

Hi,
For some reason your boot files are missing.
ntldr ( NT loader ) is one of the main boot files that is missing.
possibly a boot sector virus.which corrupts the ntldr file.

Put the disc back in, and you can choose to either install the O/S, or you can repair the current O/S, go for the repair,

Should resolve the problem,

Then run a full system vius scan,

Should be good then

Regards
Richard.
