In call of duty ghost do i need to buy 1 whole 8 gig of memory

You need to have 6 gigs of free dynamic ram.(Not including that used by the operating system and any other applications you have.

The way that memory is organised in a computer these days is usually in pairs or DRAM (dynamic random access memory) sticks which are matched. This allows the CPU to withdraw data from both memory sticks in the same clock cycle (DDR double data rate) which improves the over all speed of the processing.

So legal combinations over 4 gigs which will use the dual channel feature on your motherboard will probably be.

2 x 4 gigs sticks = 8 Gig DRAM
2 x 8 gig sticks = 16 Gig DRAM

Below is the minimum specification requirement.

Note: MINIMUM Faster CPU better graphics card and More ram is better.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better CPU Speed: Info RAM: 6 GB OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better Sound Card: Yes Free Disk Space: 40 GB

I want to install win xp on VPCEE29FX/BI

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit CPU Type: AMD Phenom II Triple-Core P820 1.8G Why would you want to "downgrade" from the high-performance 64-bit version of Windows 7 to Windows XP?

XP probably won't support the "triple-core" processor, nor the sound-card, nor the video-card, nor the USB ports. This would leave you with a very CRIPPLED computer.

Don't try it!

I bought a MSi 790gx-g65 mobo and an AMD Phenom II x4 940 which is am2+. Everything I've heard about this mobo is that it's am2+ and am3 capable, will the Phenom II am2+ I just bought work in this mobo?

Yes it will, but you'll need to update the bios to the latest one in order to be sure the processor is recognized. The 790 chipset will make that board an excellent performer with the Phenom 940. Give it as much dual channel ram as you can afford, up to the max of 4 gig for a 32 bit O/S or 64 gig for a 64 bit system.

I installed a AMD Phenom(tm) 9950 Quad-Core Processor which runs at a speed of 2.6 ghz but windows xp pro is only reading it at 1.3 ghz. I also have 4 gigs of ram but windows xp is only reading 2.75. The...

There seems to be some sort of incompatibility issue between your motherboard and the Phenom, or maybe some option is not enabled in the motherboard bios that windows is only sensing half of the GHz, like if the processor is only running 2 cores instead of 4.

About the memory diference, that same problem is because the 64bit difference. Unless you have a 64bit XP you won't see the full 4GB. Windows XP is limited to 3 or 3.5GB of ram it can use, you are showing 2.75 maybe because some video board is integrated in your motherboard and it may be borrowing an extra 0.25GB from the 3GB that are usable under windows XP 32bit OS.

Please comment what motherboard you have, since the cpu alone can't be blamed nor configured.

Having problem with new games

What is the Name and model number of your motherboard

The nforce 430 is an older chipset model and may not use the full capacity of the Phenom processor ...some boards won't even boot and there are Bios updates available for others ...etc

The onboard graphics (geforce 6150 se) is negated by the 8800 GTX ...good card......the problem isn't your video card

Your also running PC5300 ,,667mhz ram ....if board is capable of PC6400 ...800mhz ....there could be another speedup

The bottlenck seems to be with the board and possibly Ram

(Again MB model and name)

Also make sure you have all the latest drivers for Vcards ...chipsets BIOS etc......
