Ricoh Aficio cl2000

First there were streaks of no printing on one side, now printing a black test page results in a little printing on the left, none in the middle, and very little on the right. Black cartridge is new and pretty full. The streaks remain. Color seems to be OK.

I have the same problem with a CL3500 model. Does some part need replacing?

  • bwacker Jan 13, 2008

Mine turned out to be the black drum, a slide in/out part. Apparently the drums are designed to have a limited lifetime. If colors are a problem, then the three color drums come together as a separate unit.

Most of the time when I find this happening on a printer, not just Ricoh's it turns out to be the PCU (photo conductor unit). The color PCU is one unit and the black is a seperate unit. Hope this helps.

Balck and white streaks on left side of paper

Usually if there are streaks you need to change the pcu that is the same color as the lines. If the streaks are gray it also could be the fuser, but i would think it is the pcu.

Ricoh Aficio CL 2000N printing problems

If the colors are good and solid with no fades, only black streaks, then black is the culprit. I suggest replacing the black cartridge.

Color Streaks down length of page

My rep advised that if this problem is occuring when using the feeder, the small glass strip to the left of the glass can have some sort of either high lighter or white out stuck to it. He suggests cleaning this with some alcohol.

Black lines (streaks) printing on left of page on my ricoh 2000n

Running cardstock lightly misted with water or dilute cleaning solution through several times can help. Use either the feed button or print using a program that allows you to print blank pages.

Error Message: Replace Black PCU

I'm not sure how to obtain one, but "Black PCU" stands for Black Photoconductor Unit, and according to a manual for a different Ricoh printer model, it should be fairly simple to replace if you can find one.
