My ps3 cant find my wireless network anymore

My ps3 cant find my wireless network after my brother hooked up his laptop to my wireless router. the ps3 now only scans and finds HIS laptop that is using MY wireless network and he doesnt know his wpa key or whatever security that is. help!
my internet still works on my cpu but i cannot connect my ps3 to my original router. its as if his laptop renamed my network because when i scan networks on my ps3 it finds his laptop w a 90% signal strength, when before it would list my PC's name and its signal strength...
he had been trying to hook his laptop up to my wireless router but i couldnt remember the pin. then his laptop told him to find the pin on the wireless router itself (while he kept trying different pins). he did, entered the pin on the bottom of my wireless router and he was able to connect to the internet. just as he did that, i was playing ps3 and the ps3 was immediately taken off line and has not found my PC in any scans since...it only finds his, and i dont know what pin to put in to connect to his laptop to get online again w my ps3. i tried the pin on the bottom of my router to my pc but that doesnt work. keep getting error messages..
please help.

Get your router name and go through manual setup, your brother may have accedentally made your wireless network hidden, to change that go to http://192.168.1.1 or .0.1 and log in and chang the settings to default

Testimonial: "i called belkin and they had me reset the router to original settings. the address admin942 gave was very helpful. thank you!"

Erm, from what i'm getting, your hosting a ad-hoc network with his laptop and your PS3 is out of range of the router because someone must of moved something.

How do I connect my ps3 to the internet and tv so as to view the net on tv?

It's a semi-long process. Do you have a wireless router hooked up to your computer? If so just go to settings then network settings in your ps3 menu. If you have the wireless router then put wireless connection and its straight forward from there. If it is a wired connection and hooked to your ps3 than put wired connection and again its straight forward from there.

Cant connect to wireless network on my ps3

Hello,
First off you have a wireless router hooked up to your ISP correct.
anually set a static IP for your wireless connection (When going through the network setup in Network Settings --> Internet Connection Settings (wireless), choose Custom instead of Easy when the page asking for either appears).
Set the IP address to something outside your DHCP range. e.g. 192.168.0.5 (for dlink router) or 192.168.1.5 (Linksys router)Default gateway should be the IP of your router. For dlink, this should be 192.168.0.1 and Linksys should be 192.168.1.1DNS Server can be the same as your default gateway, mentioned above.
Subnet Mask should be 255.255.255.0.If you're using some sort of encryption (WEP, WAP, etc), set it in there as well when it asks to do so.
And that should get you going. I actually haven't done this on the ps3, but its my info from experience with regular pc to pc networking.
Also If you haven't tried this already, change the wireless channel from 6, to 1 or 11 in your router and wireless consoles.
If all else fails, try this http://www.clanbluntforce.com/forum/index.php?topic=864.0

Do I need a 2nd modem to hook my ps3 up to the internet? My ps3 is no where near my computer...how can I get it hooked up to the internet?

I would use a wireless router. Then you can use ps3 or laptop in the house. Or run ethernet from main router/modem to the ps3. You can buy the ethernet cables at amazon.com and newegg.com and they can go a few hundred feet.

Cant connect ps3 wireless to dlink router

The router should assign an IP address to your PS3 if it isn't manually configured. If you are connecting wirelessly make sure your security setting on your PS3 match your router. If the problem persists disable wireless security on your router and then try to connect with the PS3 with security disabled as well. Sometimes consoles have trouble connecting with WEP or WPA security encryption.

How do i hook up my ps3 to my network wirelessly

Make sure the same SSID and network key is configured on your PS3's wireless settings. To get the SSID and network key do the following steps.

1. Open your Internet Explorer and type http://192.168.1.1 on the Address Bar
2. It will prompt you for username and password. Type admin on the password, leave it blank for username. If admin password doesn't work, type your own password.
3. When you get to the Setup page of the router, go to Wireless tab. Take not of the SSID or the Wireless Network Name.
4. Now click the sub-tab Wireless Security that's under the Wireless tab. Take note of the Security Mode. If it is WPA-Personal, take note of the Shared Key or Passphrase. If the Security Mode is WEP, take note of the WEP key # 1.

5. Now all you need to do is access the Wireless Settings of your PS3 and configure manually the SSID and the Security Key. Then reboot the router and PS3. That should do it.

Help

You can't. For wireless connection on the PS3 you need to have a wireless router hooked up to your modem. Once you have your wireless network hooked up with your PC. You can give your PS3 access and the PS3 will scan for any available wireless networks. Google will help you more if you need more detail on how to set up your PS3 wirelessly.

Downloading

During the download process on the laptop, keep an eye on the signal strength of the wireless network. If the signal seems to drop out at the time of the download failure, I'd recommend disabling the power management of the wireless card.
