You can use the SIM card, but I've found the SIM card system very restrictive. My preferred way would be to sync your Palm with something like Entourage (I don't know, dont have a Mac or a Palm) or if you can, direct to a service like Google Contacts. Then, when you use the iPhone, either use Exchange Sync like Google says to, or on the Contacts tab in iTunes, you can select to sync your contacts with Google Contacts, as opposed to a program. Hope this helps...

Transfer calendar info from Tungsten/E Palm to iphone 3GS

The best way is to transfer the Calendar and Contacts to Outlook. The iPhone can then be synced with Outlook.

Unfortunately, tasks and memos do not transfer. You will need to find other 3rd party apps that are supported on the iPhone and transfer your data to them.

Two examples are:

1. Evernote - This is good for memo. You can export your memos and then import them into Evernote. unfortunately, when I did this, it was a bit tricky. I even had to write a little PERL script to create the format that it wanted.

2. RemembertheMilk - this is a todo application

I just got a new iphone 3gs. I need to transfer all my contacts and date book from my palm centro into it. Outlook doesn't seem to import my contacts at all, and neither does windows address book. Help!

You can see this guide.

I had one and the transfer updated a few days ago.

It is the first transfer which support iPhone 3GS I think.

Downloading contacts from Palm to iphone

Just save the contacts as described above "Bring up Palm Desktop. Make sure your Palm phone is sync'ed up. Show the Address page, select all contacts (Ctrl-A), and export them with File, Export vCard... This puts all contact information into a single file as a sequence of vCards."
Then send the file you saved as an e-mail attachment - using any mail (i.e. gmail, yahoo, outlook, etc) - to your i-phone e-mail. Open this email on the i-phone and push the attachement - it then asked you if you want to add these, click (push?) yes, and select eithr merge or new and voila you got them.
