Filling with water but not draining or spinning

Washer is filling up but not draining or spinning. When I open the lid it says OL. I figured it meant overload, so I took out half of the clothes and a few buckets of water and it still doesn't work. What's going on??

Its not the water - it's the weight of the clothes. Remove some clothes and re-try.

If this doesnt solve - the ECU is failed and must be replaced.

oL is an Overload error. Try running a cycle empty.

If oL (overloaded) appears in display, the load too large. If an overload is detected, the washer will drain any water and detergent in the washer. Remove several items and add HE detergent. Close lid and press START/PAUSE.

Model 11026955690. Why does screen indicate LP?

I am not familiar with any error code referencing "LP". Could you be seeing "LF"?
Below are the error codes listed for your washer:
  • "LF" (Long Fill) Inlet hoses are kinked or clogged or water valve screens are not clear. (Solution: Straighten inlet hoses or clear screens of any foreign material.)
  • "LD" (Long Drain) Drain hose is kinked or clogged. (Solution: Straighten or unclog hose.)
  • "FF" (Fill Failure) Problem with water level sensing system. (Solution: Call for service.)
  • "OL" (Open Lid) Lid Is open during drain or spin. (Solution: Close lid.)
  • "PF" (Power Failure) Power to washer went off during cycle. (Solution: Press any pad to clear the display. Restart the washer from the beginning of the cycle.)

Lid is not locking properly, washer sensor is overfilling, and the washer wont spin

Check door switch: If the lid switch is bad it will not drain or spin. Try this test: With lid open let it finish wash cycle. Press lid switch down with screwdriver. Washer should begin draining. Release switch. Motor should stop. Press switch a second time. Washer should start spinning as it continues to drain. If motor doesn't come on while lid switch is pressed, replace the switch. OR

OL error code

Hi jbrundage1. I believe you have a UL error code on the washer. It means that the sensors in the washer are sensing the unit is unbalanced. When the washer is empty, set it to a spin or rinse and spin setting. Run the washer through the cycle empty, as it will help to remove any excess water in the tub. Also, make sure the washer is level, as it is balanced on springs, and that could be throwing the sensors off. I hope these suggestions prove helpful. Sincerely, Melanie, Maytag Social Media Representative.

The washer fills up with water and doesn't do anything else. the water is still in the washer.

check the lid switch, set the timer on spin, open the lid and stick a screw driver into the slot where the lid strike normally would close down into, push up and down it should make a clicking sound and the washer should start to spin and drain out the water,if it doesn't click ,spin and drain the lid switch is bad.

Oasis washer does not spin and leaves an "oL" message

it means over load. that could mean a few things. what you should do is grab on to the tub try to turn it. if it feels like take some force to do there is something stuck around the shaft of the washer. the only way to actually check is to pull the tub. to do that need to remove agitator. under that should have 6 philip screws pop the lid open with a putty knife in front youll see clips holding the lid down. after that the tub can be removed. sometimes it take some force to remove

Maytag washer, model: LAT8415AAE top loader. Washer fills with water but will not start agitating, spin or drain.

Check lid switch. Most will not run with lid open and the switch may not be pressed down when door is closed
