Re: Loose agitator Maytag LAT2600AAE
Look toward the bottom end of the agitator. There should be a small indentation where a 10mm screw is. This screw holds the agitator the the transmission shaft. Sometimes the screw works loose and needs to be tightened.

On the underside of the machine, you'll see the belts from the motor to both the drum and the water pump. If the belt to the pump is intact, check to see if it is loose. If so, you'll see 3 screws holding the pump housing in place. Try to readjust the pump so the belt is a little more snug. This worked for mine that was having the same problem. You may need to remove the front panel to reach the drain hose to drain your drum 1st - have a couple buckets and towels handy as well as someone else to run and dump your full buckets. Good luck.
Just reach down between the basket and the agitator, and lift really hard straight up. Be sure not to hit yourself in the head when it pops loose. GE agitators just snap on to the air-bell underneith. Be sure that bell isnt loose after you remove. Good Luck!!!!
