My bernina bernette 66 will only sew backwards! Help

Force the handwheel in the direction of travel. You can't break it. Then remove the needle and bobbin and run the machine 15 seconds at full speed.

The bobbin spindle needs to be moved to the left in the slot to disengage the winding mechanism. (It may be easier to do this with the bobbin on the spindle. The bobbin and spindle should be moved to the right after putting the bobbin on for winding.)

Try going to this link and download the manual for either the Bernette 410 or 715 and look at the directions for threading and inserting the bobbin:

is the needle new or used, if you've used it before it could be
damaged at the point.
try another stretch needle, or a ball point, or titanium needle

exactly what kind of material are you sewing and what size needle are you using?

There is no such thing as a "universal" needle, you really need to match the needle to the material.

Did you change the needle to one designed for elastic thread?
