If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

IPhone 3GS battery replaced, connected to itunes via USB cable and synced, battery percentage indicator showed a power plug didn't start charging. Charger removed and over night the battery seemed to have...

Is the replacement battery an original equipment battery? I bought an aftermarket battery for my Samsung and the phone will not recognize the battery even though the specs are identical. Nice trick by Samsung. See if I ever buy another product of theirs again. Anyhow try putting the old battery back in and see if it will function while plugged in. Otherwise head to the phone store.

My iphone 3gs automatically shuts down when making a call, sending message or using the camera! drains so much battery

i think its beacause of battery, buy a new one then charge it 8hrs. do not use your phone, charging while your phone is switch off is good for the battery.

My iphone 3GS auto shutdown when using applications. Also shutdown during calls. Sometimes, when idle, when incoming call, the phone may shut down also, which means that the phone will not be turned on...

You need to contact Apple and have it replaced with another iPhone 3GS. There seems to be a problem with them as many have complained about it.

Quick discharging of the Iphone 3gs battery

perfectly normal. as the iphone is a super-powerful smartphone. also it depends on wich application you are using. 3d games, 3g wireless internet and the PUSH notifications, generally contribute to drain the battery's life. to enlarge you battery's duration i would recommend to disable the push notifications, or at least give them a longer refresh delay. also, it would help if you install a battery monitiring application and lock the phone immediatly after use. the drawback is that you wil hae to manually check you e-mails and other things that depends on the push notifications.

My iphone 3gs has hung at the apple logo. reset, draining battery, connecting to i tunes etc does not help. it just doesnt go beyond the apple logo

Make sure you have the latest version of itunes on your comp & power up comp & itunes

-power off your phone
-hold down the home button (around 6secs) then insert USB cable while still holding button then release button when cable plugged in
-itunes will then bring up message saying that the phone has been detected in recovery mode
- it will then give you choice to restore your iphone
-continue with this choice & restore your phone, you can either restore as a new phone (like new) or from a back up (all your stuff back), try from your back up first, if this doesnt work and you go back to square one then do this process again only this time restore your iphone as new and resync your info later on.

Hope this helps!!
