I live in South Florida, and took my camera up to Wickliffe (right near Cleveland), Ohio. A week before I brought up my camera, I hadn't used it at all but the last time I used it everything was just fine. I put in a brand new roll of film to shoot downtown, but when I put it in and turned the camera on, Err started flashing in the top left corner and an E popped up beneath the battery life indicator and remains there after Err stops flashing. I'm just wondering what could be causing this error, since in the time I wasn't using the camera it was still well cared for. Maybe the extreme change in the atmosphere (80 humid degrees to 35 dry) messed with the guts? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I'm a photography student and being without my camera not only kills my grade, but kills my mood.
unfortunately this didn't work, the error message is still there :/unfortunately this didn't work, the error message is still there :/

Wouldn't stop trying to focus long enough to take the shot. I cleaned the inside lens (plural) then put it on M mode, then checked the aperature ring (the one on the outer edge of the lens) to make sure it was focused and then took shots. This worked for me but the AF mode won't. I am still working on that.Wouldn't stop trying to focus long enough to take the shot. You might want to check the position of the aperture ring on the lens. If it is not set at the highest number, ( IE smallest aperture, f22,f32 ), then the camera will display that error message
