According to sharp information the 5316e is not supported by Vista, the 5316n version is ( N for networking). They would require different drivers because they are different in the way they print. However, here is a link for a vista driver for the "E" version. This is for 32bit vista and not 64bit. http://esupport.sharp.at/html/driver/DataOutputDetail.php?TemplateLang=en&ID=3758 You are more than likely going to be connecting to the copier with a USB cable. Install the software first and plug in the USB cable. Hope this helps.
You did not state which version of windowns that you are using . Try this . Go to the control panel printers and delete the printer. Go to the canon website and get the software drivers for your version of windows.
Instal the printer using the windows install routine telling it where the driver is located when it asks. If this doesn not work , pleas ewrite back. I am not positive as I dis seardches on you error code and am fairly certain that the code means wrong driver for OS.
