Hitachi Ultravision 50in will power on but no picture or sound!!!

My husband replaced the lamp and we were able to check out and watch our new tv that we purchased for the first time!! But after about 2 hours of watching the tv it shut off and the green power light started blinking and after about a min of it doing that the temp and lamp light started blinking the red light. It was like in a circle of blinking first the green then each one of the red lights just doing it repeatedly. Could someone please help me!!! It has a really great picture and sound when it does work, and we don't want something possibly small or cheap to cause us to throw away money that we don't have. Thank you for your time!!

Replace Ballast Board it is what turns Lamp on! Call Encompass for Part 1-800-638-3328

Likely the lamp in the set has failed here which does make sense if the picture was dim before---a lot of lamps just before failing all the way dim down.

Sounds like the DLP lamp failed. You can decipher the Hitachi flashing red light. That should help to be sure.
The DLP lamp replacement is fairly straightforward and can be done with minimal tools
