Apparently not.

Examination of any hit after a web search for "DAV FC8 features" answers it in the negative.

It has NO digital interfaces.

The sub was part of a Sony DAV-X1. This whole system is highly proprietary in its connections for a reason. For all anyone knows, the original amp's output was frequency-shaped to correct for speaker response issues, like Bose would do. Substituting a different amp may be electrically unwise and audibly unsatisfying. It is certain that the DAV base unit did all the electronic magic to create a surround effect from only 2 speakers and a sub.

Your best bet to put these speakers to use would be to examine the sub and speakers for two conductors each that would be for the amplifier's audio output. Measured across them wit han ohmmeter it would read somether around 6 ohms.

Then somehow craft a physical connector to carry an amp's speaker output to it and carefully test it with very low volume.

CHECK YOUR SPEAKER CONNECTION THESE UNITS HAVE A SAFETY RELAY IF YOU HAVE A PARTIAL SHOT EVEN A SMALL PIECE OF WIRE TOUCHING THE OTHER TERMINAL IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE UNIT TO OPERATE THE FAULT MAY BE INTERMITTENT

Connect RCA Red-White audio cable to INPUT of DAV-HDX500 and hook it to TV AUDIO OUT pins at back of TV.
Now select INPUT in DAV-HDX500 to get TV sound in Sony system speakers.

You can buy the mounts the rear speakers from sony style for about $40. They match the color of the speakers. The sony style website is the only place i found the mounts for these speakers.

Please let me know connectors color at back of unit to provide you info for speaker cables.

You need 5 Cord (wires) Connection to attache all speakers.
You can have all 5 cords in one package or each cord individually at Sony Accessories.

I had the same problem for a time and there is toggle with the remote which you turn on or off...just read the manual and you will find the fhis fix
