Blutooth problem in the Acer Extensa 4220

The bluetooth driver should be pre-installed with a clean installation.

I understand that this laptop was not designed for XP?
If that is correct, all aspire 5738G's I have found are Win7
I dare say there is no compatible driver and that is why it doesn't work.

Before you try using blutooth on your Acer Aspire PC notebook. try installing first the driver for your blutooth device..

1. Acer Blutooth Utility driver

Click the driver above..once page is displayed copy the code from the image and enter on the box.. press Download File.
Press Click to Download BTW3050.zip...now save the file to start downloading...After finished downloading unzip and install to your notebook.

Now try to activate settings of your blutooth in your pc notebook. and let it be detected. pair this to your hand held device and browse the files..

surely you have to but a usb device that you will plug into your computer and it will come woth a driver disc iwhich you have to install the driver and thu, you will be then able to use a bluetooth on you pc.

Download and install the bluetooth drivers for your laptop from the following location.

Most Acer product does not have in-built bluetooth. what they have is the application supporting bluetooth device. The best you can do is to get any external bluetooth device and install it driver as well on your Acer laptop, this will surely work.

insert the drivers cd and install bluetooth it isnt installed by default

check in device manager that is it working properly. try reinstalling the drivers again, download from here:
