Have you tried formatting using ms-dos?it works many a times when windows format shows an error...the command is 
format x: /fs:fat32
where x: is yout tsonic...
If that doesnt work,try this 1.download the appropriate firmware from here  2.press and hold reset button for 2 seconds  3.run the firmware updater  4.press and hold "play" button while connecting to system.  5.the updater will detect the player and it will upgrade the firmware.

How can i format hard disk?
you can format it just open my computer
then right clik on drive which you want to format then clik on format then slect NTFS or FAT32 then enable quick fomat then "yes"

Yo ucan not format drive on which windows installed most of C: drive.
And if you have bbotable disk then you ALSO FORMAT WITH IT BOOT YOUR COMPUTER WITH WINXP DISK THEN follow the procedure .

if you fomatted the card on your p.c. it may have done it in the ntfs format which the camera doesn't understand. try re formatting the card on your p.c. but select the fat32 option.
its a long shot but try it anyway.

if you try another set fo headphones,a nd they also do not work, then there is an internal hardware problem with the Tsonic, and it will have to be replaced.
