Sony Tv Sony KV-35S40 Picture in upper right corner of screen has suddenly become green or purple dpending on the colors on the rest of the screen.  Is this tv in need of repairing or replacing?

Projection TV sets have several common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

you may have some magnetic particle in the tub area if you feel skill full open up shell and dust out should be restored also verify you do not have a speaker ontop of the tv speakers have magnets and are not shielded

dont power your tv near sound box or machines with magnet,

switch off tv, get a magnet and pass it all round your screen, it will clear with no time

for the color problem,most likely you do have problem with loose contact of components from C-board ( small board connected at the back of CRT "picture tube" which drives every color and size of the screen)if you have knowledge with soldering electronic component parts, resolder this board and also check main board for possible loose contact.

Please remove any speaker or megnatic thing near to TV.

sony has problem with bad picture tubes as well as flyback transformers .if you have shorted hori output then replace it if set shorts it out again your looking at bad flyback transformer as well as maybe leaky tube.

KV-32S... and KV-32V.... notorious bad picture tube.....
not worth pursueing..........................T.

This is not the right model number for this TV set.

use a 10 ins, speaker magnet to front of picture tube degussing color
