Please help. Alternator lamp flashing with loss of power. Whole car vibrates when accelerating under 3000 revs
Try charging the battery overnight, start the engine and measure the battery voltage. It should read 13.5 to 14.5 volts DC. If it reads 12.6 volts, the alternator has quit supplying energy. Take the car to your favorite auto parts supply store and have them test the alternator right on the car. They usually do this for free as they hope to sell you a replacement part.
