Question about Whirlpool 24 in. GU3200XTP Built-in Dishwasher

Unit will not drain. It will fill with water in normal manner. Circulating pump also works normally. Float switch seems to be sound. But the wash water is not expelled as it ought to be.

Something simple to check is the drain hose. I am an installer and have seen this many times and people will buy a new dishwasher after putting in a new garbage disposal. If you did, did you remove the knock out plug from the disposal? Next, remove the drain hose end from under the sink and try sucking the water out with a wet/dry vac. All the water from the dishwasher should easily be sucked out from any dishwasher except a GE brand. If not, your drain hose is clogged.

Bosch S9G1B dishwasher doesn't fill with water

The valve will not energize if the float is up at the limit. Sometimes a bit of soapscum can leave the float in the up position. When this happens no water is allowed into the chamber. Move the float up and down and clean the travel using a bleach spray.

I have an Asko D-3122 dishwasner. When it is started on a normal wash cycle it drains, fills, heats the water if necessary and then stops. It does not go into the wash cycle. I assume the circulation...

If there is no sound of the circulation motor then it is faulty. But if the circulation pump sound is coming but water is not circulating then you need to check the wash arms for blockage.

Smeg Dishwasher not circulating water

Sound like the thermostat doesn't know what the water temperature is set at.

It could be the wash pump. Check to see that the float on the bottom of the DW is unstuck by gently picking it up and setting it down { It is shaped like a mushroom and controls the water level in the bottom of the DW }. Did it move freely?

Asko 1875 had a new main board, wax motor and temp thermistor fitted 6 months ago. now thw machine pumps in the water but does not wash what could be the problem

Based on your description and provided the dishwasher is indeed 1) an Asko 1875 and 2) filling with water, draining, heating, but not circulating, It sounds like a busted wash impeller within the main motor/circulation pump, unfortunately.

First though, do you hear a quiet sound of the wash motor starting once the unit has completed filling with water ? And be sure the unit is actually filling with water, this image below indicates the normal water level to look for....

The pump will be super quiet if the wash impeller is broke as I suspect it may be...almost like a fountain, since the Asko are very quiet under normal conditions. You will have to either get right down with your ear to the bottom or run it with the door open by activating the door switch with a screw-driver and look for visual/audible clues.

If so that is a tell tale of no wash action yet the motor runs, hence broken impeller. If you don't hear anything it may be a wire come off the main motor/circulation pump...but not likely.

This unfortunately is common with Asko built dishwasher`s and it is a case of being a victim of their own design.

What happens typically is the ball-bearings from the upper rack holders ( which are plastic, hence fatigues due to heat and fall apart ) come out making their way into the sump, hence breaking the wash impeller from the motor.

Let me know what you find and I'll try and help you move forward from there. If you need direction to remove the circulation motor and pump I can do that, but it is a pretty involved repair and requires pulling the unit from the cabinet...you may opt to call in a pro.

I'll watch for your reply and try to help in any manner I can.

The spray arms on my Asko 1716 dishwasher do not turn - water enters the unit and drains easily, and the heating element also seems to work. The filters and sump are clear, as are the air gap and the holes...

Based on your description and provided the dishwasher is indeed 1) an Asko D1716 and 2) filling with water, draining, heating, but not circulating, It sounds like a busted wash impeller within the main motor/circulation pump, as you mentioned. What you may not know, is the impeller itself is not serviceable, the entire motor/pump must be replaced unfortunately.

Before declaring it is indeed a motor/impeller issue, do you hear a quiet sound of a motor starting once the unit has completed filling with water ? And be sure the unit is actually filling with water, this image below indicates the normal water level to look for....

The pump obviously it will be super quiet if the wash impeller is broke as I suspect it may be...almost like a fountain, since the Asko are very quiet under normal conditions. It doesn't sound like the dishwasher jet arms are spraying water and the dishsoap was still on door at end of cycle.

I have a Bosch Exxcel dishwasher which runs the drain pump constantly even with the door open and despite there being now water in the machine at the cycle wont start. I have checked the warer amtrix and...

I am not sure about this model but most models run a drain cycle for a set period at the start of a wash cycle and then move on to normal filling and cycle of machine provided the various switches are at the low level it will carry on to its set cycle,is the apartment or flood switch ok?

No pressure during wash cycle

Motor pump has gone out. pump needs replacing. the unit needs to be pulled out inorder to access the pump. the sides of the d/w must come off.
