Mitsubishi ws-55809 goes to white foggy screen occasionally

Hello, I have a 2001 Mitsubishi ws-55809 that about every hour or so the screen will get kind of white cloudy picture for a minute or so. You can see images and slight color but this white cloudy washout haze is over the entire screen then it clears up instantly. Sometimes it will be fine for 2-3 hours and other times it will happen 2x in one hour. Sometimes it is this way as soon as I turn on the TV. So far it has always cleared up in a minute or two. I did have the purity/convergence Circuit and transistor/IC components repaired about 16 months ago due to intermitent picture bows. (parts IC- Integrated Semi-Conductor, and qty 2 261P150010 stk392-570 IC) Any idea what this may be and cost to repair or is it time for the trash ! ? ? thanks

It will cost between 30.00 - 70.00 dollars to do it yourself depending on if you buy the parts seperate or as kit.

You can see some examples and find a fix here...

My mitsubishi ws-55809 works fine but the screen turns pink and after a while it goes back to perfect color. Does this back and forth

Someone with moderate experience would have to examine the red crt printed circuit board--I have seen some of these that develop a cracked ground path on that board but usually it is pink except on the sides depending which ground path is bad.

The picture flickers occasionally. I am wondering if the bulb is going.

The WS-55809 is a rear projection TV and does not have a bulb, it has 3 picture tubes. DLP and LCD Projection sets have bulbs, or mercury vapor lamps. Does your picture flicker equally with different inputs?

Ws 55809 with a 2,1 error code. machine has been flickering green screen more frequenly. not you turn it on get white screen then it shuts off. is this nachine repairable? please help.

2,1 IS x-ray protection, problem is either in the High Voltage circuit or with one of the three picture tubes.

It should be repairable but most likely a shop job.

Want to know what tv is worth manjufactured in 2001

sadly because everyone now wants the flat screen and digital,, the big old analog tv's like yours are worth very little.

i would advertise it at fifty dollars or best offer.

Screen turning pink

If the pink overlay goes away gradually, you could have weak picture tubes (CRT's) If the color jumps in after warming up, it could be a bad solder connection. If you haven't had a good picture to watch for a long time, I would be tempted to put the money towards a new HDTV set as those older Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV's had a Lot of bad solder connections in the past, and by fixing one problem another could crop up in the near future.
