My cb transmits with a very weak signal and won't recieve anything. The weather band recieves with no problems. I couldn't even pick up a signal on my SWR meter but a friend of mine tested it on his home station and got a small transmittion amount. He said he had a reciever on the other side of the room and he could hear himself talk but couldn't recieve anything either.

There are a few things that could be wrong. If there is something wrong with the mic, you may not hear anything on the radio. but weather will work.

Other then that, the receive section of the radio could be blown.

Try a new mic, and if it doesn't work, then there is something blown in the radio. It needs a tech.

Just bought a connex coyote hunter.the antenna i have is for cb i know that for 10 meter radios you have to have a antenna thats tuned.on cb band shouldn't i be able to hear On cb band? With cb ant?

To recieve signals on 10 or 11 metres with the same antenna is usually without problem, it's when you try transmitting that the correct antenna length is vital. If it's not correct, you can , at the least, get very little power being radiated, and at worst, the power going back into the transmitter and cooking it. If you have to ask these questions, you should not be on the 10 m amateur band anyway.

I purchased a Midland 1001z in the fall of '09 and installed it on my boat. I is mated to the existing Shakespear 8' CB antenna. The CB worked great last summer while boating with my brother and...

Vibrations on the small cb's make the internal circuit boards come loose and its intermitted or will not RX or TX.. Check the antenna with another cb. using an SWR METER.. or have someone check it.. SWR should be free if you take it to them.. to check.. Make sure the antenna, mounts, and coax are ok.. if soo then its in the cb itself .. Email us if you need more help or need the radio looked at, the post office has flat rate boxes cheap nowadays. were in Temple, TX at the CB SHop.

I have had my radio for a while and now just out of the blue the weather band stopped recieving or something, the rest works fine the wx led even lights up just no audio

If there is static noise, then it's probably not the weather board. We have had something like this happen in our area....

The closest weather station to here up and quit transmitting. The transmitter died after years of use. So all of a sudden there was not weather station. It was out for months.

If there is no noise at all, then there is probably something wrong with the weather board. I don't mess too much with weather boards my self. You could look at the weather channel selection knob and look and make sure all the wires are connected, also the switch to turn on weather.

Can not hear anything

Take the cover off, hook the antenna up and turn the unit on. Take a pencil with the eraser end and press around on the circuit board, look for cold solder joints....hope this helps..

Have a new cobra 148 gtl took out of box no transmit or recieve

make sure that your [swr] hadn't changed or went higher than a 1.5, anything higher will interfere with your tranmitting an recieving. other than that with out being there to see an hear your radio this would be the first place to start.

Dx-88 HL

You'll need to take it to a repair shop. Because it transmits its under FCC rules so a certified tech needs to work on it.

Or take it back to where you got it and have them correct the problem.
