Re: freezer not freezing, everything is thawing.. only 3...
Sounds like your compressor is not starting up. unplug your refrig then remove the start relay from the side of the compressor. shake the relay if you hear alot of rattling around in the relay then most likely that is all thats wrong. if it doesnt rattle alot then possibly the compressor is locked up and is bad.
when you shake the relay if its broken internally usually little peices of ceramic will fall out of it. so shake it over a peice of paper to see if that happens/..

is the fan operating,if so then check your damper vent door that throttles cold air from freezer to refrige compartment they can freeze shut and a hand held hair dryer will thaw them out, then adjust its control to make sure the door moves when control is adjusted
Make sure that the freezer fan is working and circulating the cold air. Then check the damper assembly to make sure that cold air is being circulated into the refrigerator. And lastly make sure that the self defroster is working - if not the evaporator will freeze up, freezer temps go up, and ice maker will not work if freezer temps are 10 degrees or higher. A digital refrigerator thermometer will confirm freezer temps being high.
Yes, You can use most any refrigerator in an unheated area. Just be aware that if it is in a below freezing area for a long period of time that the cold may penetrate enough to get the refrigerator temperatures below freezing also.
It could be the defrost system? When you allowed to thaw, did you check the evaporator? It could be frozen? It will take longer to thaw. Is the evaporator fan working? It and the compressor will not, when the box is in defrost. Is your defrost working? Are your door gaskets sealing properly? Are your doors aligned properly? Some things to check. Good luck.
It may have auto-defrost or frost-free feature that is not operating. Also there is a drain tube that goes from the compartments to the bottom of the fridge where the evaporator pan is. The tube may be plugged.
Move the refrigerator to a room that is at least 50 degrees F.
Temps on most refrigerators are regulated by the fresh foods temp. If your garage is let's say 35 degrees, the fresh foods temp will most likely never raise enough to turn the refrigerator on. With the refrigerator never running, the freezer compartment will warm to 35 degrees, resulting in everything melting. Even if garage is a bit warmer, say 45, the refrig will not run long enough for the freezer to maintain a low enough temperture. If the garage temp falls to below freezing, say 20 degrees, the food in the fresh foods compartment will freeze. (outdoor beverage dispensers have internal heaters to prevent product from freezing !) Please don't rate this if not a Fix-Ya for you, as anything else lowers my score.
it.s the frezer that makes the refer cold.the evap fan in the frezer moves that chilled air to the refer.if that fan is slow or any blockage inthe air ways it slows that process. Also the frezer should be close to 0 degrees if theres a defrost prob that would make fresh food warmer
hi thanks for the question you problem could be a no defrost problem remove the floor of the freezer 4 screws lift from back to front remove foam if its all frosted up you have a defrost problem a bad fan motor also can cause this it could also be stuck in ice if so use hair blower and thaw dry it real good re assemble and try again thanks the appliance doc
