We have an Hotpoint FDW70 Dishwasher that for some time has had an A10 fault which although stops the machine some times 70% of the time it does a full cycle. However it is now tripping out the electric at the mains. It is not RCD protected, but does not blow it's own 13amp fuse or that of the fused extention lead it is pluged in to. Tends to blow after about 5 minutes. I know about the fault code A10 being 'Fill Valve Triac' but as not an engineer what is that? and what parts are needed and or reset codes?

Hi the fill valve triac is the plastic vlave that the inlet hose connects to you can get them for about £10 you reset the machine after replacing it by switching it on, pressing the power button leaving it off for about a minute then switching it back on, and the onboard diagnostic unit resets automatically.

Help my Hotpoint FDW70 iS FLASHING a99...............Many thanks Sarah.

A99 is a communication error. Try unplugging your dishwasher for 10 minutes and then try it again. If you still get an A 99 code that suggests a problem in the control board in the dishwasher. In this instance I recommend an engineer as it can be extremely difficult to fault find this error.

Hope this helps.

    I have a Hotpoint FDW70 dishwasher

Disconect POWER at breaker or fuse panel which should be on a seperate braker. if not find the power sorce and unplug the device. FOR SAFTEY Kneel on a thick doormat if you have to disconect power which has a plug. Wait for a an hour so to let all circuits, timers and motors to cool ... with diswasher in the OFF position, Re-establish POWER. then go ahead and start washer as sugessted by the Manufacturer. Make sure to notice any other codes that may appear. Or any peculiar noises. Most default codes appear if water pressure is too low. Top loaders are natorious for plugged drain lines and can be flushed by the home-ownwr. Make sure to check that water strainer is not cloged or restricted. Hotpoints CODES change from year to year, You can contact a Hotpoint Dealer in your area ... Give him the Make, Model, and any Series numbers to him. MOST will tell you what the CODES ARE FOR THAT MODEL OR EVEN E-MAIL ALL OF THEM TO YOU. Good Luck ... Be Safe Joe Rex
